All right, so I read all of Genesis's bio on FFwikia(I know not the best place but)well I came across the "goddess materia" thing. After reading through,

"Minerva, a physical manifestation of the Lifestream and its will.

She seems to be more similar to a Summon as it appears that her purpose is to follow, or to represent, the intentions of the Lifestream.

When Genesis is defeated by Zack in the Banora Underground, Minerva shows herself to Genesis in his dream in the Lifestream. Looking into his soul and seeing his unselfish desire and will to "complete his duty as a SOLDIER" she revives him as a reflection of the will of the Lifestream."

I don't get it. Can't Aerith control the lifestream's will? Does that mean she can control Minerva?

Also, Genesis wishes to be a hero and because of his pure intention Minerva uses her own will to grant his wish.

You know what, can I just have her explained? I don't get her at all. :mokken:

Minerva is the manifestation of the Will of the Planet. She is literally an Avatar of the Planet/Lifestream.
Aerith is a servant of the Planet. Aerith can call on the planet, but this should not be characterized as command or domninance but more along the lines of granting favors.

Aerith can convince, but not command, the will of the lifestream.
Minerva simply acts on that will, if she can truly be considered distinct from it.

Taken from Minerva's FFWiki page:

Described as "The existence that transcends all matter", she is interpreted to be the goddess mentioned in the LOVELESS poem, however, in terms of substance, she seems to be more similar to a Summon as it appears that her purpose is to follow, or to represent, the intentions of the Lifestream.

Ahh, so she's a summon. How did she give Genesis his wish, then? :hmmm:

Because the Lifestream, the planet, wished it so. YHWH edicts, Gabriel does. So goes it with Gaia and Minerva.

Hmmm, does this mean that if a person has a pure enough wish, Minerva will grant the wish? :hmmm:

Only if you define 'pure' as 'in line with the goals of the planet'

Sephiroth had a pretty pure wish himself. Quoth Vegeta 'A heart of pure evil is still pure.'
