after the massive worldwide success it seems that kojima isnt finished quite yet with the MGS series as one of the former employees breaks the truth to several sites that MGS 5 is currently in development...

Unfortunatley there is currently no information as to weather or not we will be seeing one more snake outting from our old pal solid snake, or another prequel chroniciling the exploits of his father naked snake/big boss

http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/688631/Metal_Gear_Solid_5_On_The_Way.html Link to the former employees leaked interview of MGS5

so what would you as a fan of the series like to see?

Personally I would like to see more of Big boss as I feel the character of Solid snake has no reached a perfect ending, with all lose ends now tied, however there is still more about Big bosses story that can be told (the events leading up to his defection and the creation of the first outer haven, including a young solid snake and frank jaeger before the events of the original metal gear)

but thats just my thoughts, what are yours ? :)

I haven't played through MGS4 yet, and am avoiding spoilers.

So on that note, I'd like to see remakes of the old NES games of Metal Gear. The original Solid Snake vs Big Boss story. It's been years since I played them and they are pretty hard to get hold of these days so I think they'd sell well aswell.

I don't think there needs to be another prequal involving Naked Snake/Big Boss as the end of MGS3 lets you know and beleive why he turned the way he did. You almost sympathise with him for it. I can completely understand his reasons for turning "bad" to be completely fair.

I can't say what I want because I've only played MGS4 so I don't really have that much knowledge on what happened beforehand apart from the odd bit of information that was put into MGS4 about the past...and also that free MGS4 DVD I got. :wacky:

But I think the ending left a lot of things open from what I can see in MGS4 even though it probably filled in a lot of loopholes at the same time. :-)

Perhaps MGS5 could be set between 2 and 4 not only will it fill in the gap between those two it'll create one bizarre series for it will then run 3,1,2,5(maybe/hopefully),4 and i think it will just be the best option rather than dragging the game way back to the past and MGS after 4 come on guys Snakes getting old, real old.

I totally agree that trying to bring another game out with solid snake would be a farse, hes much too old to go on another outing after 4
the conversation with otacon at the end of the game confirms he will be dead in a few months after mgs4 finishes anyway

Id also be very annoyed if they came out with some miracle cure that stopped snakes aging as well

Id much rather have either another big boss/naked snake title or an up to date version of the original 2 metal gear games, anything else I dont think will sell to the masses.

I'm not too crazy on the idea of another Naked Snake/Big Boss title. a game which fills the gap between 2-4 would be pretty cool. A remake of the original games would be ok since they would probably do it very well. But if it's a post 4 game I would want to see someone completely new as the lead character a la MGS2.

~I've never really even understood the series cause it breaks off into too many spin~offs and stuff~

That's crazy :| after all the hype of iMGS4 being th last one there making another one I think someone is doing a money hungry Square knock off..

I'd imagine that any sequel will be based after 4 which I personally would prefer myself. A chance to have a fresh start with everything after what we had before would be awesome, new characters, a new story and hopefully with more emphasis on the gameplay.

MGS4 tied up Snake's story well, it'd be good to have something new.

I'm a huge fan of the MGS series, but i personally don't think there should be a fith one. 4 was amazing as was 3. but surely bringing out a 5 is flogging a dead horse? i think if there are anymore MGS games released it may ruin a well loved game.

It will only ruin the series if it's done really badly and i can't see that happening, it's all about where to place to story and who to have as the main character, cause after MGS4 snakes to old, Before 3 a bit to early for my likings, so the only gaps that are open are between 3 and 1, also between 2 and 4 but if place anywhere alse it may be a weak link in the series.

Thats my opinion anyway.

filling the gap between 2 and 4 is an awesome idea.
i hope to god its not gonna be a sequal to 4, snake cannot possible undertake another mission.
he would probably drop dead in the middle of the mission :S
also, im not too crazy on another big boss title..tbh one was enough.
also i dont wanna see a game dedicated to raiden either, that wud suck big time, especially if he was like raiden from 2..talk about n00b.
