This is a character for my new Roleplay, The Tribe.

O/URP

Name
Melinda Ayla Reed

Alignment
Good

Race
Human, although she is one of several Hosts from the Tribe, a Host being a specific person in the Tribe's bloodline and that originates from Tudor times. A power was activated within several men, remained in their bloodline and so they created the Tribe to keep their deadly secret. Each Host is gifted with supernatural powers, although appears to remain as human as anyone else.

Gender
Female

17

Melinda stands tall at 5'9", bearing long black hair and strikingly piercing light blue eyes. If one were to look closely, there is a small silver glint in her iris. She has a diagonally-shaped scar across her right arm, which she chooses to often conceal by tying a bandana around it.

Attire
Melinda is usually seen in an attire consisting of a black and sleeveless v-neck top, black baggy three-quarter length pants and white trainers. She also wears silver fingerless fighting gloves on her hands and a silver locket around her neck.

Armour
Melinda does not wear armour.

Personality
Melinda is cold and quiet to those who do not know her, although this is of no fault of her own; it is wholly due to personal reasons. A woman of a few words, she is known to have a sensitive side. This is shown through her fear of being touched and her constant struggles to emotionally control herself in certain situations. This phobia comes from reminders of her traumatic past bring on this unstable side. Situations like when someone is being touched or hurt violently triggers this unstability and may cause her to go into a feral rage.

When around people she knows, however, Melinda appears to be relaxed and talks more. She knows where her sense of morality lies, although her actions can often question that. Melinda can be rude and unthoughtful sometimes, but makes up for this, unusually, with her empathy. She desperately craves to be human rather than a Host, seeing her birth as an unfortunate accident, and so this makes her self-loathing.

First Impression
Anyone would assume that Melinda appears to be intimidating just by eye contact. When they hear her speak, this assumption is proven to be correct by her cold-hearted nature. If she were to engage in direct contact with anyone who crosses her path, she would react by being suspicious and demand to know who they are. And if one were to first see her when fighting, they would be somewhat impressed and question everything about her immediately.

Strength
Melinda possesses superhuman strength, so can do almost anything outside of the ordinary for a normal human. In addition to this, her body has become somewhat more enhanced in muscle. She can lift up to around a thousand pounds, although she hasn't tested beyond this limit yet. Melinda can break through reinforced steel, although this requires a strong degree of concentration. A single punch could send someone flying away, although this would solely depend on the individual themselves.

Vitality
Although Melinda is physically strong, it is not enough to defend herself. A typical strike would send her down if she is not quick enough to evade. On the other hand, an energy attack is more efficient and renders her weaker faster.

Speed
Putting aside the special attributes to Melinda, her speed is the best "normal" thing about her. Having spent some part of her life running as a hobby, she can sprint swiftly. She is more fitted to short distance running. Her reflexes add to her speed, enabling her to sidestep from an attack and land attacks effectively. Her speed is that of almost an athlete, but not quite there yet.

Stamina
Because of the amount of strength at her disposal, Melinda can get often get tired in a fight due to exactly that same strength. Like her speed, she is more adjusted to short battles that only require a short amount of time. After a while, Melinda may become tired and may miss more. When taking a breather, it may take a couple of minutes to regain her posture until she launches herself back into the fight again.

Reflexes
Melinda has spent a lot of time in the apocalyptic cities alone and so her reflexes are a little over the normal bar. She is quick to realise she is being attacked and, with the combination of her super strength, can dodge nearly every oncoming attack, sometimes with the exception of energy attacks.

Fighting Style
Melinda prefers to use traditional martial arts she picked up during her mid teenage years. She will only fight when it's required, especially if it's her life on the line. Melinda uses more kicks than punches since she believes the former delivers more damage, but is equally trained in both tactics.

Weapons
Although she prefers to fight with her fists, Melinda carries a small golden dagger in the appropriate holster on the bottom of her left leg and is usually concealed by her black baggy three-quarter length pants. The dagger is sharp, around twenty centimetres long and has a golden hilt.

Abilities
Melinda possesses three supernatural powers blessed to her as being one of the many Hosts from the Tribe: super strength, teleporation and molecular manipulation.

Melinda's super strength has already enhanced her body somewhat with muscle and allows her to have strength far beyond that of a typical human being. Regardless of having this power, Melinda can still tire out like a regular person.

She can also teleport around almost anywhere, although this ability is limited since she cannot teleport anywhere she wants. Teleporting drains Melinda the most. She prefers not to do it since she can sometimes end up somewhere unfamiliar and only uses this power in emergencies or when scouting out an area. If Melinda were to teleport constantly, from location to location, then she would tire out easily and pass out. This tiredness from constant teleportation can range from ten minutes to an hour. Some teleportation is better for Melinda since she does not tire out as easily.

One more ability is the power to manipulate molecules. This is essentially freezing time and blowing things up. However, she can stop particular molecules at a time instead of everything at once. Melinda does not like to use this power regularly since she virtually doesn't have much control over it as of yet. This does not drain Melinda as much as teleportation, but it is not advisable for her to be using it on a daily basis. Not will it only drain most of her energy, but the power will become unstable until she can regain herself again.

History
Melinda was born April 2nd, 2010, in the midst of an oncoming apocalyptic world. It was said her father, an engineer, was killed due to poison gas and her mother died naturally after childbirth. Therefore, she was automatically orphaned. For the majority of her life, she lived in a small colony amongst dozens of other orphans. Her upbringing was tough, especially since the world was one constantly changing and going through dark, troubled times. Whilst everyone looked to making the most of what they had in the colony, Melinda became the black sheep, yearning to discover more about herself and her dead parents.

When she was twelve years old, Melinda's confidence stumbled to an all-time low when one of the carers started taking advantage of her. He abused her on a daily routine, prompting her to question why he was doing this to her. As soon as she tried telling someone what was going on, he tried to rape her. In an emotional moment, Melinda's powers activated and she accidentally knocked out the carer. As revenge for what he had caused, she used her newfound power to take him to an apocalyptic city and left him there to fend for himself. Melinda returned to the colony thereafter, keeping the details of what the carer did and her new power to herself.

Over the next few years, she soon discovered two new powers that emerged. Melinda was now able to teleport and manipulate molecules in the atmosphere. Against the wishes of the colony, she decided to leave and ventured out into the apocalyptic cities to search for answers. A year has passed and Melinda is still out there, armed with her powers and the skills to survive in the outside world. She has encountered hardly anyone, realising that those still alive are now retreating to the nearest available colonies. And as her journey continues, she is under the belief that she is the only one of her kind. How wrong she is.

O/URP only? Or RPB as well?

Appearance

Pictures are good, but are considered secondary to a text description. That way, if for some reason the image fails to load properly, we still have the text description on which to fall back.

This is shown through her fear of being touched and her constant struggles to emotionally control herself in certain situations.

Where did that phobia come from? In what types of situations does she lose control of her emotions?

She knows where her sense of morality lies, although her actions can often question that.

Where does her sense of morality lie? How do her actions bring that into question?

She can lift up to a few hundred tons, although she hasn't tested beyond this limit yet.

That strikes me as a bit much. 200 tons equals 400,000 pounds, which is as much as a construction crane tower, or almost as much as a jumbo jet. The strongest Olympic deadlifters can lift about 1000 pounds. So I would classify anything around one ton as 'superhuman'.

I'd like to see a little more description of the dagger. Blade length, hilt design, etc. Is the blade golden, or is the hilt? Or both?

She can also teleport around almost anywhere, although this ability is limited since she cannot teleport anywhere she wants.

What limits that? Also, what type of drain does this put on her energy? How often can she teleport? Can her teleportation be disrupted in any fashion?

One more ability is the power to manipulate molecules.

This can be considered GodModing in most cases. You wouldn't be able to use it against another character, their weapon(s)/spells, anything they were using or touching, or any other character they were interacting with. Just for the simple fact that if you manipulate those molecules, you've taken that thing out of their control and placed it in yours.

That being said, it can be allowed if it is severely limited along those lines. But we would also need to know what kind of drain this puts on Melinda's energy, and how the actual event takes place.

What is a Host?

O/URPG only, yes.

I've edited where necessary. Hope it's explained things a bit better.

I'll go ahead and approve this, with a reminder to be careful with the molecular manipulation ability.

Moved to Approved Characters.

Of course. I can see now why it's somewhat godmodding, which was why I thought it was best to put some restrictions in place.
