Mega Man

I agree with you about Command Mission, it's good but it's been done already and better with FFX. It's a nice addition to the Mega Man games though.

I've now completed 100% both X and X-2, I might just say that I've enjoyed these more than the 2D Mario games in some ways. Fun and challenging at the same time. However did anyone notice a sudden rise in the difficulty from X-2 into X-3? Getting my ass handed to me far more often than I did before, it seems that you have to be more specific on the order which you do the levels than you did previously. Still good but it's taken me to the point of being violent once or twice due to the cheapness of some of my deaths.

And I fully agree with an earlier comment, the soundtracks are fucking awesome.

Finally managed to play some of ZX on someone else's DS and it looks to be a worthy purchase as well.

the megaman X series is the one i liked the most....X4 is my favorite, the bosses were cool, upgrades for X were awesome and fighting Sigma was fun...

I'd have to go with the original. I haven't played much of the other series and the original brings back fond memories of frusteration XD. And I still somehow manage to get the music stuck in my head. XD

Screw the original, I'd suggest the X series if you can get your hands on it. There's an anniversary collection for the PS2 with X 1-6 which is worth it, the first two are top class and while 3 is sometimes annoying as fuck it's still a solid title. Not gotten round to 4, 5 or 6 so can't comment on that just yet.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat? No Megaman Soccer?!?

Anyways, each Megaman series suffers from the Capcom Curse of having multiple sequels that really don't differ much from previous installments and continuing to pump 'em out ad nauseum...I haven't played ZX & Star Force though (but I'm sure they'll get the curse too :P)...

I liked the original about 1~3 or so...I liked the first X, I guess (hooray for Hadoken!)...Legends was a nice change of pace, though ridiculously easy, even the slightly better L2...I enjoyed the Battle Network games, the battle system & even the whakky stories, but they were insanely the same game over & over...

X-2 had a Shoryuken. Doesn't KO Sigma in one go though.

They did sorta go overboard with the sequels, I mean how many times can you kill/defeat Sigma/Wily? But I'm more disappointed that they brought 3D into it, even X 4-6 seem a little weird and the gameplay doesn't feel as tight.

I really like whatg I've played of ZX Advent so far but I've got the same issue with it as most did in that it's got a little too much backtracking/exploring and not enough action. It doesn't work as well as I would have liked.

I've only played 3 Megaman games: Megaman X5, Megaman Zero 3, and Megaman Powered Up! (remake of the original for the PSP), and I'd have to say the I like the X series the most. Overall, the Megaman games are pretty fun but also pretty difficult. I don't think I've beaten any of them yet O_O. Though I have made it to the end of X5, at least.

4 and 5 are both really good....6 is meh, unfortunately.

No.

Honestly, I could care less, so long as they remain solid games that are fun to play. It's not like Nintendo hasn't done that with Mario and Donkey Kong, but I don't see people whining about that.

I found the first Legends rather challenging...although that was mainly because of the control scheme and horrible camera. Still though, the Legends series is great, I can't understand why hardly anyone likes it. I guess people don't like to try new things. The first one had excellent music, especially the fight against Juno. Remixing Bach's song was brilliant :neomon:

But I'm more disappointed that they brought 3D into it, even X 4-6 seem a little weird and the gameplay doesn't feel as tight.

Agreed. X6 just kinda failed, and 7 and 8 are just....I don't know, wrong. They can stick to 3D in the Legends series, it works there. But not in the X series, and I really don't like Axl either.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, the Capcom Curse isn't one of bad quality by any means and I'm a definite Capcom fan (4 loife yo), but more a curse of the straight & narrow. They know what works and they continue to give it to the fans. The only problem I have with it is, "No Risk, No Reward"...but then again, I suppose each series itself is a big enough change, yeah? It's just hard to see the forest from the trees sometimes, I think...

Besides Juno, I don't recall a boss I didn't just run a circle around to beat. They fixed this a bit w/L2 though. I wish they had done something cooler w/the "Dark Megaman" thing though...That Juno fight is one of my favs though, I gotta say.

ARE YOU READY?!? HRRRAAAAHHHHHHHH

Oh, and I like using Megaman every once in a while in Marvel Vs Capcom 2!!! Make it a theme team: Megaman, Roll & Servebot (the mini team) or Tron! :P

My flatmate uses Servobot as one of his mains, mostly because most of my attacks miss him but it is funny to see. Megaman himself is good for a laugh as well.
