Okay, so I did a search through Gold Saucer and didn't come across any topic and felt one needed to be made:

Who here loves Mega Man, and what's your favorite series? Mine would be the X series and the Legends series. Tragically, however, I'm very bad at Mega Man games. The platformers are hard and the Legends series are dungeon crawlers, and I've always been a bit of a wuss when it comes to those. I just don't like running around in dark places with foreboding music and things suddenly popping out in front of me or sneaking up on me all invisible-like ala Predator.

I only remember playing one Megaman and I can't even remember the name of it. :(
I think the console was the Nintendo 64, but that was such a long time ago.

Ah, that would be Mega Man Legends then. The N64 was a conceited console, it had to stick 64 into practically every title, I don't know why they couldn't just keep Legends in the title.

Although I've not played all of these different ones, I prefer X and then it'd be between either ZX or Battle Network. I like the art style of ZX (never played Zero games but they sound good) and I like the strategy behind you card choices from BN.

I like the one for GBA, i think it's called Battle Network. That was good, even though it's the only MegaMan game I have play. But the series is good too

Most likely Battle Network, was it more RPG-like with card battles?

I actually still have yet to play that series, I heard that the first couple games were excellent but I just haven't gotten around to downloading ROMs of them. Plus I'm still trying to beat Mega Man Legends (damn camera angle) and Mega Man 7.

I quite like the style of gameplay, and yeah, it's more a RPG.....no platforming at all. I've only played the DS version which has both of the 5 versions in one. It can be a little tedious but then most RPGs have similar elements of walking around talking to everyone. ;P

My favourite Mega Man game so far is Maverick Hunter X as it just looks so cool and plays very fluid. I read that it's a remake of original X with the added bonus to play as the bad guy who looks like Boba Fett (my kinda game).

Yep, it's a remake of X1. It's had improvements made to it, plus the AMV "Day of Sigma" is included with it. And that guy who looks like Boba Fett is called "Vile" xD

The non 3D X games are the best I've played although I'm looking into getting into the Zero games on the GBA since it's a genre I've gotten into for the console after playing Astro Boy and Future Gunstar Heroes.

I played a Megaman RPG for the PS2 about 3 years ago. Think it was X, cant remember. But it was nothing to write home about.

I couldn't remember his name but I always prefered to call him Boba. He's definetly the better character in it as he looks better plus he has so many more weapon choices too.

I quite like ZX too and will definetly buy ZX Advent when it's released in UK. It's a shame the Mega Man X collection was never released here as I would have bought it. Maybe they could make on for the newer consoles and add even more games like originals and maybe Zeros as well as the X ones. That'd be like an ultimate collection.

That was Mega Man X Command Mission. I quite liked it as it played similar to FFX which I love. Sure it's not great but it's still enjoyable for a Maga Man game.

Sorry for the double post by the way.

I've never played Command Mission, actually. I kinda started to lose faith in the X series after I played 7.

I call him Boba too xD I'm sure they got the design idea from Fett anyway, they just love taking ideas from Star Wars (like Zero's beam saber).

I have the X collection, I'm still unable to beat any of them but 5 though...I need to get the Original collection too. It wouldn't surprise me if they made a Zero/ZX collection at some time, though.

I think I played it on the NES although I could be mistaken...... But saying that you had a choice of afew character/level things and I only ever did the fire one cause it was the only one I could ever complete..... If it's not mega man I have NO idea what it was but either way I liked it lol

OMG yeah O.O, it was many many years ago that I played it though - lol I think it was when the NES was actually shiny and new...or I might be thinking of the SNES there actually cause I'm sure I wasn't 5 when I played it......

In that case I choose that one cause its the only one I've ever played. Im assuming it's the original....?

*nods*

Yep, the first Mega Man on the NES ^_^ I can't remember if Fire Man's been in other games or not...I know Guts Man has.

I really wished that they released that collection in Uk as I would have loved to own it. Hopefully, they'll make an ultimate collection with all of them (Original/X/Zero/others) for PS3/360/Wii.

Well, knowing how Capcom LOVES making money and whoring out franchises almost as much as SE, I'm sure they will xD

It's also possible they'll have them for download on the Wii or 360.

This thread as well as another on another forum has convinced me that I should play Megaman games again. Forgot how difficult these games could be, my skills have lessened after all these years.

Also found a preowned copy of the ZX game yesterday which I've now got in my possession, sadly I can't find my fucking DS now.

And going back on what people were saying about Command Mission, it was a decent JRPG if nothing special.
