Mark Hammil for Kefka!

I think Square-Enix would have the money. I just don't know if they'd be able to get the attention of Bowie.

This is why I highly doubt S-E will get Bowie, as great as he would be. Even if they were willing to drop that kind of money on a voice actor, there's a pretty good chancer that Bowie has never heard of Final Fantasy, much less played any of them. Big name talents are usually reserved about doing something that doesn't have any other established mainstream talent or license involved.

HOLY SHIT if Bowie was hired for this it would increase the sexiness to a level OVER 9000.

Golbin King for-the-fucking-win!

I'm actually starting to like the idea of Kirby Morrow as Firion  I remember why I avoid these kind of threads, to avoid disappointment/getting my hopes up -__-

and for some reason, I picture Shantotto with Gatomon's voice from the english Digimon :wacky: that would get annoying, though

OVER 9000! :P

That gave me an idea on how awesome Vegeta's voice-actor would be for Kain ;)
I don't know Kain always seemed to be as a really badass guy with a really ..ya know..."hard" voice should i say :gasp:

Hmm... tough to say. I'n not sure how good voice actors are in english or how much they are appreciated but if they did have to dub the characters I wouldn't mind seeing Cloud, Squall, and Sephiroth reprise their english voices from Kingdom Hearts and Tidus his voice from FFX, as far as the rest are concerned I'm not really sure who the good voice actors are so that's my input, hope it was useful.

sephiroth should be hugh laurie... aka house idk why that would just be funny

Blackadder Laurie or House Laurie?
Slightly more effort, next time, please. :)

I'd definitely like to hear the original voice actors back for those who have one already - Steve Burton, George Newbern, David Boreanaz, James Arnold Taylor, et cetera. Beyond those, I'm not really sure...I don't know many other characters and can't really judge. xD

I think Elijah Wood for Zidane would be great. Someone with a semi-deep voice for Kuja, though suggestions escape me right now.

Mandy Moore for Terra? :gmonster:

Ok I pretty sure nobody cares to read this, but I’m bored, so I’ll satisfy my fanboy urges and add my list. My aim is not to find someone who sounds like the Japanese voice actors so much as finding someone who fits the personality (based on my knowledge of English voice actors). Also, this is not a “dream list” meaning that I will use names that could conceivably be used (no really big name actors like Connery). I’m including some roles each person has done; If you don’t know the person named, look them up. I also bolded the actors names for those who don’t care to read my comments.

Warrior of Light: Honestly I think just about anybody would works since he’s pretty archetypal, though I would think really like it if they used a voice actor from an old 80s or 90s cartoon show (like Lion-o from Thundercats, or He-Man).

Firion: A daydreaming rebel outlaw, I think he needs to have a calm and reflective voice. Earlier posts suggested Kirby Marrow, and I can think of no one better

Onion Knight: This wouldn’t be too hard to cast; anyone who can voice a kid/teenager and be easy to listen to would be good, so I made 3 choices: Greg Cipes (Beast Boy from Teen Titans), Scott Menville (Robin from Teen Titans), or Jack DeSena (Sokka from Avatar).

Cecil: This one’s hard as Kirby Marrow, who I designated as Firion, would also work really well. Being serious, kind, and a little unsure of himself, I really think someone more soft-spoken would be best. For lack of another choice I’m picking Brian Drummond (Zechs from Gundam Wing and Vegeta in the original DBZ dub). Yeah he can sound really friggin crazy, but hearing him in Escaflowne as Allan, I think he could pull this one off well.

Bartz: This is a tough one. I really love him in this game. You need someone light-hearted and comical, but also able to be a little serious too. When I see him I think him a bit similar to the Lupin III character, so I think anyone who’s dubbed his voice should work (though I prefer the one used in the Manga(company not comic) dub of Castle of Cagliostro). He also reminds me Spiderman personality-wise, so someone who's voiced Spiderman (Yes, Neil Patrick Harris is in this group) would work too.

Terra: I always thought of her as confused and a little spacey (most likely from that pesky amnesia), but not as darn mousy as she is in this game. I was recalled my watching of the Escaflowne dub, and the main character's voice actor, Kelly Sheridan, would be a good fit.

Cloud: Doesn’t he already have a voice in English? I see no problem in reusing the same voice actor here.

Squall: The original Kingdom Hearts featured David Boreanaz as Squall. Unfortunately it changed with the second game, but I really like David. I pick him.

Zidane: His voice is very appropriate in Japanese (A short thief (especially one with a tail) is going to sound like that). Have you ever seen DBZ in Japanese? Goku is voiced by a 70-some year old lady. Anyway, that sort of voicing wouldn’t fly in English, so I thought and thought and I found what I think is the perfect voice: Dante Brasco (Rufio from Hook, and Zuko from Avatar).

Tidus: His current English voice is perfectly fitting (and sounds like his Japanese counterpart as well).

Garland: The warrior obsessed with time and immortality, I thought of who would personify that well. I originally thought of someone with a deep voice like in Japanese, but I found someone who fits his personality really well, and though he doesn’t have too deep a voice, he would fit very well: David Warner (he’s done too much stuff to mention but believe me you’ve probably heard him. Look him up).

The Emperor: Everyone seems pretty fixed on Bowie, and I would like that too, but I’m thinking probably not. As a good alternative, Tim Curry would be great (his speaking voice is similar to Bowie’s in the Labyrinth).

Cloud of Darkness: Marina Sirtis. That’s all

Golbez: Keith David (Goliath from Gargoyles) would be choice. Absolutely perfect. He would also be great as the narrator (I believe the Japanese narration is also done by Golbez's voice).

ExDeath: Tony Jay (Too many things to mention. Look him up; you’ve heard him). I originally thought he would be good as Golbez, which I still do, but I think Keith David would better be able to voice Golbez’s personality. ExDeath needs little more than a deep, intimidating voice, and you get both that and a great actor in Tony Jay.

Kefka: As the thread says, Mark Hammil would be perfect. I’ve been thinking of other people who could do it, but honestly, nobody comes to mind that could be better than Mark Hammil.

Sephiroth: Lance Bass. Yeah, who decided that one? Really though, Sephiroth already has a voice actor. Why not just use him?

Ultimecia: I thought of two ideas for her: Grey DeLisle (look her up, great voice), or Kate Mulgrew (I know that sounds like an odd choice, but the voice is fitting).

Kuja: Narcissistic and a kinda effeminate, the right choice could make him very haunting. Someone who can sound pompous and regal would be good. There are so many out there but none come to mind.

Jecht: I know he’s got an English voice, but I don’t like it. His Japanese voice seems tough, harsh, but a little kind too. His English voice sounds like a one-shot villain from a Disney cartoon or something. It not only sounds mean and hateful, but it seems to love being mean, and it’s also just plain hokey. Honestly, I’d use Ron Pearlman.

Shantoto: For lack of a better choice, I thought Lisa Ortiz (The English voice of Lina from Slayers, also voiced by Shantoto’s Japanese voice actor), but after watching the Avatar cartoon, I think the voice actor for Toph, Jessie Flower would be fun.

Gabranth: He’s got an English voice already, so we needn’t worry.

Cosmos: Catherine Disher

Chaos: Honestly I don’t know. You could just add effects to anyone’s voice to make it sound demonic and evil.

I got this idea in my head but at the moment i cannot do it on my own maybe someone can provide Mark Hamil's famous Joker lines on audio and use it on a Dissidia Kefka- cut scene to see what it hears/look like??
