Manga to Anime

... and manga doesn't have fillers, so we can see something that we won't see in the manga

assuming you meant "see something we won't see in the anime" then yes, I agree.

But I still stick by what I said earlier, Akira is very unique both ways. The manga and anime are practically two completely different stories with the same basic plot, in which case, I advise to check out both.

I have not seen the anime of X, but I've read a couple issues of the manga and thought it was pretty interesting. Is the anime a series, or an actual movie?

I've only seen and heard of an X movie
-Do you know where I can buy the Akira manga?

Well, if buying it off the internet isn't an option....

check any bookstores that sell manga near you, and if they don't have it, you could probably order it from them. A Barns & Noble or Borders would be where I would look first, but really, any bookstore that sells manga should do. If you liked the anime, you'll love the manga. Much more in depth, much more character development on all sides, and Akira doesn't just make a naked appearence at the end :P
