You know, some manga distributors are just ridiculous, and others are very reasonable and good.

Like TOKYOPOP is definitely one of my favorites, everything by them is priced at no more then ten dollars, which sounds very reasonable to me. And they have a lot of interesting stuff (Battle Royale, Blame!, Cowboy Bebop, and Priest to name a few).

CLAMP is one of the more ridiculous ones if you ask me, sure, they have X/1999, which is fairly interesting, but other then that, I really don't like them.

And Dark Horse stuff seems to be pretty expensive. I mean, I can see Akira going for 20+ dollars like it does, because they're all huge mangas, but even their small stuff like Berserk goes for 15+ dollars.

What do you guys think? Or am I the only person in the world who pays attention to that kind of stuff?

Viz is pretty reasonable also. $10 a manga
and the Viz Shounen Jump mangas that are around $8.00
-I usually buy manga that is no more than $10 (unless it is Akira or Ghost in the Shell) that's why I usually buy Viz and TokyoPop mangas

Here's the mangas that I like under their english distributor:

TOKYOPOP
- Battle Royale
- BLAME!
- Cowboy Bebop
- Priest
- The Voices of a Distant Star

Dark Horse
- Akira
- Berserk

Viz
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Golgo 13

Obviously I seem to prefer Tokyopop.

I buy Jump only really..... Though I don't buy volumes anymore, just the SJ magazines, since I gots a site that's got everything up to at least 5 years from now of american translations...

Tokyopop is usually OK but their only releasing Fruits Basket every four months nowadays is hugely irritating, and means we're behind places like Australia and France now because of it. They just seem to be deliberately taking ages with each new volume. Otherwise it is good though. My favourite is Del Rey, which is very consistent.

ADV Manga is extremely infuriating for the way it left Yotsuba stuck on volume 3 for over a year with no word as to whether is was carrying on. They also left a lot of other series in limbo or cancelled.

My favorites are definitely TOKYOPOP & Viz. Here in the states there's a store that sells 'em for $8.00 a volume, so that's definitely a plus since I'm strapped for cash most of the time.

I have a couple of Dark Horse manga, like Trigun, and that was $15.00, but the Trigun volumes are a lot thicker than normal though too.

I like Tokyopop the best. They pretty much distribute all my favorite manga, (Kare Kano, Fruits Basket, ect...) The only thing I don't like is their spacing for when they release the next volumes. Four months is way too long to wait.

Tokyopop have made at least one title that we've loved.
Princess Ai <3
Chobits <3
Hack <3
Ragnarok <3

On and on....

Dark Horse were good, but i have to admit that i used to borrow mangas from the library...Tokypop is mostly all they have.
