Main character..getting weaker?

... I guess I dug myself a hole there :P

I think he was just trying to encourage Amarant to be part of the group and not a loner. He tries quite a few times during the game. Matching Amarant's ignorance seemed to work in the end.

Actually, Tidus is the second best fighter in my game :]
I transfered him to Auron's sphere grid once he finished his and he hits 9999 damage each time ^^;
i can't seem to find the best weapon in the game though. one of the hidden treasures?

I thought Cloud was a pretty versatile character. I always found him to be the middle-man in terms of strength, defense, HP, etc...he's slightly more powerful than "average"
If I had to rate Cloud on a scale from 1 to 10...
1 being higher agility and stronger magic, and 10 being stronger offense and defense...I'd give him a solid 7.

Most of the main characters are usually middle men in terms of battle stats. You're right about Tidus though, I found he was more useful as a support character since he was so agile...he wasn't an outstanding fighter or mage...just fast...

Yes and no…

Yes, I can see how their stats are getting lower and lower at the very start of the games, but no, as most are just as strong at the end. If anything, it seems that with each new release it takes a little longer leveling and building up your characters.

So, in short, I feel its all pretty relative once you have all the leads equipped properly with each games battle system…

In some ways the characters are getting weaker, but I think it kinda makes the story much stronger not to make the main hero always the stereotype badass powerhouse.

In Vaan's case, though, it really did suck, because he wasn't even the hero of the story. Just along for the ride, which is balls.
