Im CONVINCED there was a thread, and Ive seen it recently i KNOW I have but I cant fucking find it -_-

So, who did you let die?

I wanted to let Gatta die, because he pisses me off, so I checked the guide, and it said, if I want Gatta to die, select the bottom 2 options both time you speak to him, so i selected the bottom option....then I jsut didnt speak to him again, so I either didnt look hard enough for him ort the guide lied

So Luzzu died on my file -_-

Gatta is such a whining idiot aswel

what about you lot?

Okay remind me here, who are Luzzu and Gatta. It sounds so familiar but it is just beyond the reach of meh memory

It's the two Crusaders you meet in Besaid.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Luzzu died for me because I didn't really care one way or the other. HOWEVER...if I did, I might leave it the same way.

Gazza certainly learned a lot over the course of the game as a result of the happenings of Operation Mi'ihen, etc. I mean, he goes on to lead the Crusaders of Besaid and wotnot, and he becomes something of a man in the process. But hey, what do I know? :wacky:

Gatta died because it's best to die young like a rock star. xD

Luzzu didn't seem to annoy me, partly because he was dedicated to his cause. On the other hand, his comrade just seemed to be running all over the plac.

They're the Besaid Crusaders :)

It depends. I normally like Luzzu to live, since yeah, Gatta's a sniveling fricking baby, but it doesn't matter too much to me. Last time I played Luzzu lived :D

Gatta always whines so much when Luzzu dies that I don't like going through that either. Plus, Wakka's gotta punch Luzzu again! You know.. for
telling Chappu to join the Crusaders!

I killed off Gatta. He was slightly irritating, and I found Luzzu to be a more important character, considering he had history with Lulu, Wakka and Chappu.

I wonder which one is still alive in X2 though? Which one is "canonically" dead?

I didn't realise that it was an either/or thing. I think that Luzzu died in my game, which I was really annoyed about. I really wanted him to live

Hmmm. I dont remember who was the young, and who was the other guy.
But anyway, I think they bouth deservd to live.

I've just replayed that section, and this time Gatta died

I don't like the bloke, but that was truly heartbreaking...the way he fell over :(

I almost wish I'd gone for Luzzu again :(

^ Aye, he just...slumped and that freaked me out. Poor Luzzu was in bits bless him.
:(

First couple of times, Luzzu died - I didn't know until my current playthrough you could keep him alive, so I made sure I did this time round.

I didn't even KNOW I could choose. D=

But Luzzu was the one that died. I wanted Gatta to die, but meh. Will kill him on my next playthrough. >:3

I believe Gatta is in X-2. I'm almost certain he's with the Youth League.

Huh, I didn't even know you had a choice though. That's cool. Final Fantasies have so many hidden tidbits.

I did the exact same thing. I wan't Luzzu to live, and thought I'd done it. Then after the battle (and after I'd saved, I think) I see Gatta curled up in a ball in fron of Luzzu. Damn it!

But then he's young n all etc.

WHAT? THERE ARE OPTIONS TO LET LUZZU LIVE?

FFFFFFFFFUUU...

*breath* I really loved Luzzu's character. He easily can be called one of my favorites, though he is rather minor. I'm definitely going to get him to live next time. No offense, but screw Gatta. ^^

I was one of the few who had no clue Gatta could die and then discovered so without the aid of a guide or hint from others.

I remember on the third or fourth play-through going up to him on the beach, expecting the scene with him in shambles, and having him slump to the ground... I stared blankly for quite some time, not quite sure about what had just happened. When it finally hit me that Gatta had died it actually shook me deeply.

The scenes with Luzzu at the temple were especially poignant (Wakka and Luzzu's interaction is amazing) and I love the small aside in Besaid.

Either way though is powerful. These instances are what made FFX so special. Becoming so distraught for rather minor secondary characters is a testament to the game and to Square.

Gatta was young, I picked him a lot, but he was rather annoying so i killed him a lot too.

I tried to get that whiney bastard to die, too. I listened to the guide and did what it said, but he didnt die. If he wasnt such a douche, then it might be a different choice to make.

Yeah, Gatta annoyed the hell outta me. So I killed him off. Luzzu was way cooler. Unfortunately on my second play through I told Gatta that he should fight on the fromt lines so he managed to live. <sigh>

Telling Gatta that he should fight on the frontlines instead of staying behind is what kills him off. I usually always kill off Gatta because the scenes that follow are way more emotional than when Luzzu dies. Plus I prefer Luzzu over Gatta though I feel sorry for Luzzu when Gatta dies. Luzzu always reminded me of an older brother figure to Gatta.
