Luck?

I just got the ability to junction to Luck, but I don't notice any difference in my character. What does the "Luck" stat determine in FF8?

I think, although i'm not entirely sure, that luck effects the number of critical hits both you and your enemy make. Although it could effect status effects.. not too sure.

The Luck stat is for when after defeating an opponent, they have a higher chance of dropping an item. It also applies to the crit-hit, but not as much as you might think.

Well basically, luck increases the chances of character survival during a battle, based on the circumstances of enemy characteristics.

I guess luck applies to a lot of things...I looked up what it was designed for, and different sources say different things, best to level it up whenever you can though, a little luck never hurt.

I personally have never bothered with the Luck stat in any of the games and I seem to have done fine so...

at a moments glance I guess it's purpose is to reduce the amount of critical hits you suffer from the Enemy, and to increase the amount of severely damaging attacks you make.

I think it mostly affects the frquency of Odin appearing in battle, that and possibly the chance of getting better items from battle & more critical hits?

Mmmm I don't think it affects status effects as thats based on the percentage of whatever item has been junctioned to said staus effect

Either way, I always like to have high luck even if im not entirely sure of it's uses

In FFX2 it applies to reducing the chance of reciving an attack (Source: Gamefaqs and Piggyback)

Evade applies to physical attacks. Luck applies to Magical and signature moves. (Like Bad Breath)

So it is probably is similar in other FF-titles, but it can have additional relevance too.

you must need a lot then because Bad Breath almost always applies.

Luck must have some value since its exceptionally hard to increase your Luck stat on the FFX Sphere Grid compared to all the other stats.

Well, mostly Luck affects all things by a little. Like the frequency of Odin appearing, or the chance of being able to evade etc. If i'm not wrong. Lol.
