An economic protester threw green custard over Business Secretary Lord Mandelson today. While I dislike Mandelson, It's rather alarming to think that it's so easy for a protester to get to so close to a Cabinet-Ranking member of government, what if, instead of custard, it had been a gun the woman was carrying? Or a bomb?
Anyway, what do you think? Is protesting like that an effective way of sending out a message - protesting against a new runway at Heathrow - or is it a stupid and pointless way to gain quick publicity?
Also, should the Government step up on Security? It was stupidly easy for that woman to walk up to him, throw her custard on him, and then leave.
