Light of Judgement > Supernova

While I'll admit the game does have plot holes, several of those have been filled in with other games. The main reason I like Sephiroth is the way he plays off of Cloud. I found Kefka to be very bleh, and while he may be unique in the FF series I've played plenty of other RPGs with villains like him. Besides, he just came off as a generic bad guy in my opinion. Hell I find Golbez from FFIV before he changes to be a much better villain then Kefka. While Sephiroth may not be unique he does play off of the main char, Cloud, really well and is not something I've seen done too often.

Because Sephiroth looks like a weaboo faggot and does everything a generic bad-boy character would do and say.
And Kefka looks like a faggot clown

And he has such great villainous dialouge.

HATE HATE HATE!!!!!!

And don't even try to worm out of it by saying "but that's only the SNES script!!!" That's the script most FFVI fanboys jerked off with when they fell in love with the game.

Final Fantasy VI and VII are BOTH overrated. The same applies to Kefka and Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy IX and Kuja remain the only game and villain completely deserving of their fanbase.

For me, Kefka was too ridiculous to really draw either ire or sympathy. Sephiroth drew both hate and fear from me while I was playing VII. So... my vote's always been with the silver haired pretty man.

Sephiroth was a lot more crazy than he was emo, and his influence over Cloud was something unique. But what really made him creepy was the way he was presented in the game, at first these vague whisperings of a legend, and then he kills a sixty-something story building's worth of people before he ever appears on screen. He's usually depicted as more of a force of nature than a man, something your heroes have very little power against, which led me to dread the final showdown that I knew had to be coming.

And, I will admit, there is one other factor here. VII was the first Final Fantasy I played, and the first game I played that had a real plot. I was astonished by it every step of the way, and really unprepared for how emotionally involving such a game could be. I went on to play all the games after that, but VII and Sephiroth will always have a softer place in my heart than VI and Kefka.

Ultimately, however, it comes down to taste. I prefer Sephiroth's cold promise of violence to Kefka's crazy antics, even if Kefka did succeed in destroying the world. Anyone who prefers Kefka is just as right as I am. It's just a matter of what you like.

I played both 6 and 7, quite relgiously in there respective lights and for me Kefka is definatley superior to Sephiroth, here is why:

Kefka: Was a skilled General within the empires army and was much like general leo, however Gestahl's meddling and Kefka's exposure to magitek is what drove him to become insane, however despite his obvious and often shown mental instabilities, Kefka had schemes of his own and used his apparently "fully deteriorated" mind as a ruse to lure his enemies and allies alike into a false sense of security, while he put into place his grand scheme of harnessing the power of the espers for his own, he allowed himself to be captured by the redeemers to make them believe he was now out of harms way, and he tricked Gestahl into believing he was entirely loyal to him.

As Kefka began to drop the masquerade we saw the true evil genius behind his character, as he let Leo believed he had defeated him in single combat only to reveal his true self and strike down a startled leo, he manipulated Celes and the redeemers into following them to the floating continent, in order to use them as a distraction for Gestahl while he claimed the power of the Waring Triad for his own, and of course he turned on Gestahl having claimed the power of the waring triad, forcing the Redeemers to retreat and splinter for over a year while he brought the entire world to ruin and pushed an entire race (the espers) into extinction.

The "weakness" masquerade that Kefka puts on is also mentioned in dissidia as the Emperor remarks at how pathetic Kefka is, however Garland being more experienced and less of an egotist than the emperor remarks "The clown is just as scheming as you are" noting back to true underhanded evil that lies within Kefka.

Sephiroth: Albeit a great villian in his own right, he has only really manipulated Cloud and he often brags about his plans before they see fruition (Summoning Meteor in FF7, Using the planet as a means of traveling the Galaxy FF7 AC) which is a severe character flaw, Sephiroth is definatley a lot more Saturday morning cartoon than Dark villian compared to the likes of Kefka (who uses manipulation, lies and deceit to get what he wants which is more common of the vices of real life)

Although I do believe Sephiroth's past is the most interesting part of his character, but both he and Kefka are fallen "War Heroes" in there own respective rights, Sephiroths history however is a lot stronger than Kefka's but its Kefka's present that is what seats him as the stronger villian.
