Hey guys, here's my new series! Ico is a "puzzle-platformer", according to the official genre, but I'd consider it more of just an action game with a few puzzles sprinkled throughout. It was developed by Team Ico and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

If you want to buy the game for yourself, you can either grab the PS2 version for a wee bit of a high price by this point, or go for the PS3 version. The PS3 version also has Shadow of the Colossus on the same disc and is all HD (and 3D if you're into that sort of thing). As a third option, you could buy the PS3 version off PSN for around £10.

Anyways, this is one of those games that really sticks out in my mind for being incredibly minimalistic but at the same time stunning to look at and listen to. There's nothing complicated about the gameplay mechanics, but it's such a nice bit of architecture to explore.

Ok, so here's the opening. I hope the quality is ok...gimme a shout if there's anything wrong or if you just want to talk about the game in general :):

Thank you! We'll kick the game off tomorrow!

P.S. This may not be a daily series considering the high picture quality needed to fully enjoy the game. It should normally be daily but the odd day may be skipped :).

Episode 1 - The Sacrifice

http://youtu.be/e-rkaRY5NkQ

Welcome guys and gals to Ico! To kick things off, we check out the sacrifice of a young boy named Ico and the meeting of a young girl named Yorda. What was she doing in a cage? ;)

A load of the platforming elements are introduced here too, but don't worry: so long as you know to press circle for levers you should be ok...

Thanks for watching! We'll be seeing what it's like to have Yorda with us next time :).

Episode 2 - Yorda's Guardian

http://youtu.be/E2RcBoVACdQ

Welcome back! This time around we make sure Yorda is safe as we check out a load more of the castle.

So many hazards! From crumbling bridges, to cages way up high (and who can trust that rusty chain to hold it tight?), to a great bit of minecarting (why that thing used to give me trouble when I was little I don't know.

Thanks for watching! While Yorda is completely defenseless, I think that adds to the game. We all complained about Ashley being all weak, but it's all about the survival element huh? ;)

Episode 3 - Queen Of The Castle

http://youtu.be/n0UM4huaQuE

Hey all, it's time for us to meet Yorda's mother: the Queen! She's such an interesting character but we don't meet her much in the game.

Great intro cutscene! We also find out that that Yorda is the princess...but more importantly that the Queen wants her captured and is the one sending the monsters (how very Queen Brahne!).

Finally, we find out that our main objective now is to reopen the main gates which will take us up to the end of the game.

Other than the cutscene, there are rotting chandeliers, bombable bridges and amazing looking windmills (well, just one) to climb.

Thanks for watching! We'll make a proper start on the hunt for the first gate "switch" (out of 2) next time :).

Episode 4 - Princess In The Sewers!

http://youtu.be/kjkRUkqBKcY

Hey all, welcome to the little courtyard :). It takes a bit of creative thinking to solve this part...I actually get stuck off camera.

We also check out a bridge and have to leave Yorda on her own for a bit. Gotta rush that or the enemies will come...

Finally, we head outside and go across the castle walls to the first tower: East Arena! This place is where the game really starts to show its brilliance. Really tightly designed :).

Thanks for watching! I'll have to lower the quality to 720p next time 'cause this episode took 6 hours to upload . Also, I now know that the series will be 10 episodes long total. We're almost half way! :)

Episode 6 - Leap Of Faith!

http://youtu.be/pfG3zSBOd8g

Hey all, it's time for us to hunt out the second arena/tower, so let's get Kraken!

You kinda know what to expect from this episode. While it's old territory, there are tougher fights and it's much trickier to navigate this area.

Also, look out for the leap of faith! It's a long jump. There's another jump that normally gets me stuck for so long; you have to time the movement of your jump with the movement of a weird...crate.

Thanks for watching! We'll be checking out the water tower next time which is ever so hazardous for our little guy's health :s.

Episode 7 - The Dry Water Tower

http://youtu.be/Z5_p9AkD7iU

Welcome to the most dry water tower you will ever come across! Plenty of stuff going on here, from bombs to levers to incredibly deadly platforming.

Thanks for watching! We actually make it to the next (and final) tower this time around. So next time...y'know what we're doing ;).

Episode 8 - The Other Tower

http://youtu.be/3dgduioQL24

Welcome one and all to the...west arena? The savepoint calls it the west idol stairway, but that can't be right lmao.

Anyways, it's very similar to the East Arena, but much trickier. There's that one part where you have to leave Yorda behind and rush before the enemies get here :s. Dear God!

Once all of this towery stuff is done, we head back to the main gate and save before opening it.

Thanks for watching! :)

Episode 9 - Past The Gates

http://youtu.be/hTqYrzs0ca4

Yay! We can go through the main gates now! We can escape! We can get the hell away from the castle and not be sacrificed!

Yay! The Queen will let us go through the main gates now! The Queen will let us escape! The Queen will let us get the hell away from the castle and not be sacrificed!

Oh c'mon...time to see what the Queen is really capable of.

P.S. The last episode will be up tomorrow. There's one hell of an ending ha! :)

Episode 10 - The Beach ~FIN~

http://youtu.be/x6tb1CoCCV4

Welcome to the ending! I won't talk about the plot or anything, but it makes me all smiley inside :).

We have our one and only boss who is simple enough once you know how. Also, the credits and a tiny little mini-review of the game.

Thank you so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed this game as much as I do. I complain so much more in this series than I normally do while playing it lmao. I don't think I want to muck up on camera is all.

The trailer for the new series will be up tomorrow. It's something really different...we've had enough of adventure games for now right? :)
