First things first, hello, I'm new to the FF forums and new to the FF series. I'm into RPG games and have played them for years but always somehow missed out on Final Fantasy, until now.
I'm about 2 hours in and am near the start of Chapter 2, probably taken longer than it should due to looking at everything and reading all the codex. What I'm finding is that it's just walk>fight>walk>fight. Now that wouldn't be too much of a problem but the battles appear to be just spamming the x button and then it ends. I beat every fight in half the target time and get 5 stars every time. I try using the abilities rather than the auto-battle but at the moment there isn't much difference because the number of available moves is limited.
So I want to know about the learning curve, is it really easy just because I'm near to the start of the game? How quickly does it start to get at least mildly challenging? I usually play games on Hard difficulty and this appears to be on Easy, there isn't a difficulty setting I'm missing is there?
Really like the game btw, graphics are amazing and the story is starting to take shape. Really looking forward to getting in to the series and spending much time with it.
Thx
