Tech Laptop issues

So I purchased an Acer laptop, hooked up with Windows 7, but for some reason, it will not load up these forums.:gasp:

Can anyone help me by explaining what is causing this? I would like to be on here if/when I go somewhere and bring it. Thanks in advance.
 
Installing Windows 7 SPECIFICALLY does not allow these forums to load, while everything else works? I don't believe it. Something else must be up on your computer.

In fact it's probably a problem with your browser, as I know for a fact that with the latest Google Chrome this site works fine on Windows 7...
 
Alright, when I get a chance, I'll change to something else and see if that helps.

Try different browsers as well. I know IE has problems with a lot due to the plugins and such. Try Firefox or Chrome.
 
Personally, I use IE at home (with Windows 7) and this site runs like a champion (always so much hate for IE for some reason). So I rule out that it's a browser problem.

Did you turn on your compatability button? I know for a fact that talking in the Shoutbox on this forum is extremely laggy and possibly unresponsive if you don't turn it on. You'd be surprised how well this site, in particular, will run if you turn it on. If that doesn't work, then I would have to know more about what the computer is doing to help you out.
 
Yeah, im pretty sure the OS can't block the sites, it has to be something explorer related... Like use firefox or minefield.
