hiya guys. well decided to make a new thread here since my old one died. but there is no point in dwelling in the past, besides it would be irrelevant since i got photoshop now. i still do work in GIMP though.

I think you've done a great job on these two.

The colours are attractive and the blending is really nicely done.

I love the fuzzy, smudgy effect around him. It makes you focus on him more, which is good.

I can see a funny transparent pattern over him though. I would suggest trying to get rid of it. It would look much better!

The font for the text could be improved. The angle you have the text on is really good though in my opinion.

Nice border to round it off nicely. =)
