Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Unlocked In North America On January 11 [07/10]

Following the European news, Square Enix announced a release date for Kingdom Hearts Re:coded in North America. We’re getting Sora’s adventure a few days before our PAL friends on January 11, 2011.

Chronologically, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts II. The story begins with Jiminy Cricket discovering a message in his journal, the one he kept when he met Sora in Kingdom Hearts. King Mickey digitizes the journal and discovers a datascape with the worlds from the first game.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded has some twists such as side-scrolling levels and RPG style fights in the Olympus Coliseum. Fans can also look forward to a "secret talk" that hints at future events in the Kingdom Hearts series.

From the looks of the screenshots, it doesn't look like the game will take place after all that happened in KH2, but I could be wrong. I'll have to look at more recent info. I probably will be getting this game though, since I have never played a KH cell phone game before, I would naturally be curious as to how a re-make of a cell phone game would look. I'm sure it'll be interesting.

^ It's confusing, but they said that it's basically a digital version of the KH1 worlds and timeline, so technically it's accurate ;D

As I said before, I'm really happy to see that localization for outside Japan has shortened more and more. It might actually explain why games are taking a while to release in the first place in Japan xD

This game will take place during and/or after KH2, probably after, because it goes into some events that happen right after CoM but before KH2, which they obviously didn't do because they were trying to get out of twilight town. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this and hope they get the picture on the first post fixed!
