Prologue
A tall dark stranger collapsed outside a castle that time had forgotten. He looked up at the castle and roared. He got up again, his silver hair draping over his shoulders. His hood flung from side to side and his dark cloak was covered in blood. He flung open the door and shouted again. He fell onto his knees again and gazed at the floor.
“You look, erm, troubled?” A man stood on the upper floor, hung over the banister.
The stranger just looked up, his teeth gritting and grinding.
“It is nice to see you again,” He slid down the banister and landed right in front of the stranger. He bent down and lifted up his chin.
“Poor guy.” His mocking tone didn’t go down well with the stranger, “Come on, say something.”
“Get your filthy hands off me.” He batted the cocky mans hands away.
“Come on, old friend.” He started to laugh manically. He span around three-hundred and sixty degrees. When he arrived at the same spot, the stranger was stood up again. He was towering over the cocky man.
“Well…” The cocky man stood on his tiptoes and their eyes were on the same level.
He was thrown backwards until he fell on the floor. A keyblade appeared in the strangers hands.
“No, no need to be violent.” The cocky man crept up the stairs backwards, his hands occasionally slipping.
“No need to be so cocky, Braig.” The stranger carried on looming over the man called Braig.
“Never call me that!” Braig got up and pushed back. The stranger just laughed. “I’m warning you, don’t make me angry!” The stranger carried on laughing. He raised his keyblade high and lunged down.
“Stop!” Another man stood where Braig once had. “Who are you.” He walked down the stairs. He was just as tall as the stranger. He, like Braig, had a grey cloak on. He e had silver hair and a domineering aura.
“Who are you, should I ask.” The stranger gripped his key blade harder.
“This is Bradford, our leader.” Braig was cowering behind Bradford.
“You coward. So, you’re Bradford, the leader of the First Guard.” The stranger strolled around the entrance hall.
“Yes. Who are you?” Bradford stopped the stranger in his tracks.
“Names are for friends, so I need not give one.” The stranger lifted his keyblade and threw it down. Instantaneously, Bradford brought up a keyblade and stopped the stranger’s in its tracks.
Bradford’s eyes laughed for him as he glared into the strangers.
“The names Xehanort, if you must know.” Xehanort dropped his keyblade.
“Welcome to the First Guard.” Bradford offered his hand to Xehanort. Dark sparks flew when their hands met and the laughing in Bradford’s eyes became more menacing.

Chapter 1 - Message From Beyond

Sora woke up, sweating. Had he dreamed about Ansem or Xehanort or whoever. He wiped his forehead and looked outside. The sun hadn’t even rose. The thing he hated about being back home was that there was little technology. He didn’t even had a clock. He was also bored at most times. He wanted to see his friends again.

Luckily, he had been left with two of his best friends, Riku and Kairi. He decided to stay awake and so he headed for an early swim. As he walked out of the door, his head swirled and he saw the image of a man with silver hair, laughing as the islands burned in front of him. Sora’s dreams had been like this for some time. He kept seeing the same man and he was burining the universe to a crisp. But Sora knew that was impossible. He also thought that him seeing the stars from above was impossible. But things can change.

The sun soon rose and sent its promising beams to the sandy beaches. But still no one had awoke. Sora must have walked round the island a million times. He was still tired but felt too scared to go back to sleep. So instead, he lay on the sand and just thought. He remembered the times when he and Goofy and Donald once travelled the universe, saving planets from the grip of the Heartless, or the Nobodies. He missed the thrill of not knowing what came next. But on his quiet little island, he always knew what was coming next. He could predict when Riku would wake up. He knew when Kairi would emerge. He knew when everyone else would come out and play in the baking sun. He hated it.

“Hey Sora, when you gonna get your head out of the clouds?” Riku was standing over him, eating a piece of fruit.
“Don’t you miss it?” Sora stayed lying on the sand.
“Helpful Sora. You know when to…”
“Don’t you miss the world out there? Arent you bored?” Sora stood up, he had desperation in his voice.
“Of course I miss it. All the life threatening action. Being taken over by darkness. Of course, I miss it.” Sora couldn’t help but notice Riku’s sarcasm.
“I miss it.” Sora’s head hung low.
“How about we make a raft?” Sora just looked at Riku, “come on, Sora, we never got to visit any other islands.”
“Really!” Sora started to get excited.
“Whatever.” Riku went to collect logs. Sora was getting very excited and started to cheer. It was just like his early teenage years, but this time he wouldn’t be attacked by Heartless. He went to tell Kairi, but he had to stop because of the urning in his heart, his mind and in his future.

“Why Sora?” Kairi ran along side Sora whilst he picked up logs.
“Arent you bored?” Sora stopped.
“Yes Sora, but at least my life isn’t at risk.” Kairi stroked Sora’s arm. The two of them had shared loving moments with each other but no one decided to share their feelings.
“Come on, Kairi, its only another islannd, what could happen.” As soon as Sora said those words, he saw a burning reckage of what looked like a ship. Sora started to sweat again and his palms felt like they were on fire.
“Sora?” Kairi looked at Sora’s burning eyes.
“Lets go find Riku.”

“Come on you two, I want to go now!” Riku seemed to be more excited than Sora.
“I have some logs!” Sora had finally cheered up and had dismissed his vision.
“We don’t need logs, we need food. What the hell, there’ll be some there.” The three friends started onto the log. Sora put a foot on and his mind swung into another fiery pit. He saw castles on fire and a mysterious silver haired man. Sora fell backwards onto the beach.
“Sora!” Said the other two in unison.
“Lets not go now. I’m too tired.” Sora clambered onto a nearby rock and the other two sat either side.
“Its okay Sora, we can go whenever. We have all the time in the world.” Sora just ignored Riku’s comment and stared out to sea. He wondered why he was seeing what he was seeing. He wondered about his dreams he had had. He was too scared to admit them though, so he would have to suffer quietly.
As he looked to sea, he saw a bottle bobbing up and down. Was it a bottle?
“Hey look!” He decided to mention it to the others. Luckily, they saw it.
Riku jumped into the water and fished it out.
They gathered around the piece of paper which bore a royal symbol. A symbol of familiar royalty. It was King Mickey’s.
