Kids charged after falling trolley crushes woman

Two 12-year-old boys accused of pushing a shopping cart that plummeted four-storeys and landed on a passer-by have been charged.

New York mother-of-two Marion Salmon Hedges, 47, was left barely clinging to life after being crushed by the trolley at an East Harlem shopping centre on Sunday.

Mrs Hedges’ husband Michael Hedges told the New York Daily News her situation was “awful”. Mr Hedges hoped she would recover but said it would take months not days. “She’s going to be, in the best of all cases, in rehabilitation for months,” Mr Hedges said. “She’s under sedation. She’s intubated. She has a thousand machines hooked up to her. It’s very disturbing.” The two youths, who have been charged with assault, attended a Family Court hearing with their mothers. They were then handed over to the Administration for Children’s Services.

I can't stand it when parents let their kids hang out at the shopping centre when they don't intend to buy anything or go see a movie etc.

They just "hang out" and get up to all sorts of mischief that the security guards can hardly control because there's so many of them. <_<

That poor lady.

Who the hell would think to look up to check if a trolley is going to come flying over the top of the building?

I know I'll be having a good look before walking out from now on.

Oh and that trolley is the goofiest looking trolley I've ever seen. Not that that's important but I can't stop looking at it. 0_o
