I had a discussion with a friend of mine the other day and I thought it would be interesting to see what other people may think ,so i'm sorry if this is in the wrong area in advance but I am currious what others think about it.
Firstly i'm allergic to birth controll pills and the shots ,as are pretty much all the females in my family.
I noticed an odd coincidence among my female friends out of ten girls myself one of them they all became afflicted with uterus polyps but for myself the only difference ,besides genetics and such was that I never took birth controll pills and such.
Personally i'm begining to think birth controll is causing these things as these girls are ,and at the time, within five years of my age.
It seems outragious thet so many young girls in their twenties keep popping up with cancerus polyps and the main thing in common is birth controll.
My friend also pointed out another point Is it not odd how young girls say between 10 and 13 have full blown womans bodies? I mean I know some girls develope quickly but these girls have adult bodies that verry few girls had at that age in the past or even when I myself was in school, and its not just a few girls its almost all of them at least in my area. He thinks its also do to birth controll messing with hormones and such.

So what do you guys think?

Birth control actually regulates the amount of hormones already present within the body. It plays with the levels of progesterone and estrogen and how they balance each other out. It's not simply adding more hormones into a woman's body. It's seeking a balance. I've known several women who started taking birth control simply because it helped regulate how their body reacted to their menstrual cycle. In some cases, they would be doubled over in pain because they would cramp so badly. The birth control made things tolerable. The point here is that I don't think birth control is contributing to the early onset of puberty. That's more RBGH and such that is put into foods.

There may be a link between birth control and polyps, but I don't know if it could be considered causal. I'd have to look at some numbers and a few studies before I could really make a guess there.

There may be a link with the polyps, but not with the early puberty. I think the number of girls 10 to 13 or so on birth control would be extremely small, and even then it would be for medical reasons, PMDD (pretty much what CasinoChips described with the really rough periods) and so forth.

A lot of people blame hormones in food for early puberty, and that may or may not be true, but there's another factor. Girls have to reach a certain percentage body fat to start menstruating and really hit puberty. A lot more people, and a lot more kids are overweight, so they hit puberty earlier.

I have never had any issues on the pill, nor has anyone I know either tbh. I use it to control my periods because Im super heavy and it disrupts my daily life when Im on my period. There are more potential side effects than you can shake a stick at, although I dont think Ive ever experienced any, bar when I was onthe mini pill and I had HORRENDOUS mood swings...:wacky:

I guess it's just the risk you take

Theres also a coil you can have fitted that's hormone free, or, condoms. People dont HAVE to take the pill....

You don't have to go on the pill. There are so many side effects and most women I know that have been on it have all had stronger mood swings. It really does mess with your hormones and body so it's no surprise taking it for many years will result in problems. I wouldn't take it for a long amount of time. @ CassinoChips, it stops you menstruating completely! What it does is gives you a fake period and 'break' so you feel 'normal' or whatever. (Which I find stupid really, period's are annoying enough)! I know some people who take it purely for their painful periods. I'm lucky I very rarely get such painful periods, usually painkillers will sort it out. I've also noticed when I stick to a more healthy diet I get little to no pain whatsoever. Sometimes all people have to do is improve their diet.

10-13 year olds having women's bodies is not unusual though and would have nothing to do with the pill. Girls of that age shouldn't be taking the pill anyway and I doubt many of them do. I have pretty much the same body I have now as I did when I was 13 (nearly 10 years ago now). That's the age most girl's develop the most into their adult bodies. Girl's usually develop quickly and hit puberty early, a lot earlier than boys. It's also genetics and diet, etc. Some girls have more body fat than others, we all have different shapes and sizes. It's normal! Though 10 is very young to develop so much, but it's not that rare to hit puberty as early as that or even earlier. (Some girls get their periods around that time).

Only thing I've seen out of birth control are positive things. I would even recommend my non existent daughter to get on to control PMS as well as acne break outs. Also in any case she does have sexual activity at least she can control it a bit better. Sorry I have come to grips with change and kids are having sex earlier.

I don't believe Birth control would ever be the cause of girls hitting puberty sooner. I still don't believe Poly could be a direct cause of birth control either. If it were scientifically proven.. then maybe, otherwise.. nah.

ive been on the pill since i was 18 im now 22 and i have to say yes the pill can cause alot of side effects, it also reduces your chances of contracting ovarian cancer and also in some circumstances (mine in particualr) it sorted out my fluctuating weight problam and extremly heavy and VERY painful periods.
i started developing aged 9-10 i was a very early developer in terms of body shape, but curvy big chested big bootyed women run in my family :P, but girls aged between 10-12 should not be on the pill as the doctor (unless maybe for some medical reason that i know nothing about hehe) should not be prescribing girls of that age the pill i wouldnt have thought?
:)

Ive been on the Pill since I was 17, now 24 and only had a 6 month break. Im not in a relationship at the mo, but it helps my monthly cycle. Plus as mentioned my periods are less painful and heavy, which Im thankful for because when I was younger I was doubled over sometimes in pain. My mum and friends told me to continue to take it and you never know what may happen.

But Ive noticed I have gained some weight since I started the Pill and my temper has gotten worse. Im so snappy at people when I dont mean to be. I started my period when I was 9 and started to develop round them, same as my mother and grandma. Big chested, curvy women in our family too lol :D
