Right, so i just started playing FFX-2 about 3 weeks ago, and i've just finished Chapter 1 (wow i know) but the thing is, im just not hooked o_O
its like i play for a hour, and then i don't look at the game for a day or 3, and then out of boredemn i start playing again, but then i get even MORE bored cause nothing interesting is happening. The only thing that i actually enjoyed till now was Yuna screaming "WHO THE HECK IS LENNE?!?!?!"

The only thing i think of while playing this game is smashing it threw the window, grap Final Fantasy X and start playing that again XD

But the game isn't mine (thank god) and i have the habbit of actually FINISHING the game before i start another, otherwise i just get confused.

oke, now i'm starting to rabble on, my question is

Does it actually start getting INTERESTING after chapter 1? :gasp:
is it worth finishing? XD

I actually really do want to beat it, but i'm scared its going to be a real drag and i find the battle system really annoying and confusing...
Plus the story really hasn't catched my attention yet and its made me hate Rikku even more, just when i was beginning to like her..

Yes, i've read the thread of is it worth getting and i'm still puzzled.. so, anyone? Just tip of understanding the battle system would be nice? XD

Personally I would finish it just to put a completion on the FFX story. The end of FFX is not the end and things continue. I was not impressed with FFX-2 but i still picked out the little things i liked and held on to them through the remainder of the game. I would say stick with it, there are some interesting plot choices you can make and some of the side bosses are the most challenging of any FF game out there (if you are into leveling and taking on a monster hunt challenge). Chapter 1 is just an intro to get things going, get to at least chapter 3 when things start to happen to make your choice. Of course if you are already that far you might as well beat it. You don't need to level like crazy to beat this one i did it at level 46. Up to you thought, i just needed the story to be complete in my head.

You started it so you may as well finish it. The game isn't as great as X but there are some good bits in the story, plus you get different endings and stuff. Its good to
hear the voices of Auron, Braska and Jecht again too
near the end of the game.

So yeah just beat it, doesn't mean you have to play it again right?

It does get more interesting after Chapter 1. There's a transition (at the end of chapter 2, I think?) where the tone of the game shifts and becomes more sinister and complex, less fluffy. It's not on an Operation Mi'ihen scale, alas, but the game really doesn't get going until after chapter 1.

This game reminds me of an old PUNCH magazine cartoon, in which a minister is asked what he thinks of a poached egg served to him by the curate, his superior. Mindful of etiquette, he replies tactfully but truthfully, "Portions of it are excellent."

I would say that it's probably worth playing through, even if you've got some issues with it (I sure did) and vastly prefer the original.

One thing I recommend is collecting Crimson Squad spheres, once you get to that part of the story -- don't miss a cave down in the bottom area of Mushroom Rock Road -- because that backstory/plot is a little more in line with the Auron/Jecht/Braska backstory in terms of good characters adding a little texture. Nooj, Baralai and Gippal are at least somewhat interesting. Unfortunately the sphere that fans of FFX would most like to see --
a tiny Auron scene with one of his classic one-liners
-- is nigh impossible to get without a walkthrough.

i tought the same thing that you did when i began playing this game, and the first chapter IS boringi was about to regret my purchase....but yeah it really does get more interesting further in the game, by the end off the chapter 2 i think.

Well if you want to know what happens in the final story you should pass it. I also prefer Final Fantasy X (My wife didn't like FF until she saw FF X Ending, almost cried), Square have rubbish somethings, I think they care most of improving systems and graphics (that polygon thing, on FF was less polygons per character) and tottaly forgot about the damn history...Pheww, c'mon, Leblanc?? Wtf?? And the most interesting part is that they are occupaing Guado Salam, the former house of Seymour, and after all they are almost the same right? Leblanc = Seymour? Nahhhhh. Spare me please. But even so you should finnnish him because the end isn't so bad ;P

Didn't think it was a too great game either! It was better than FFXII though

Yes it does. :) start playing it again.
i prefer the battle system in X-2 than in X.
X-2 is just the continuation of X.
i wonder why many players hate FFX-2, and keep COMPARING it.
X and X-2 is just like a one game that is divided.
