Ivalice has changed
Over the course of a few thousand years, Ivalice has slipped into anarchy. History tells of an immense war that waged between the Lucavi and the other enlightened races of Ivalice. Having no choice but to sacrifice their powers to save Gaia, the Scions of Light gave their powers to seal away the Lucavi and give the rest of Ivalice a second chance. Espers, remnants of the Scions, keep an eye on the world of Ivalice, ever watchful as the Scions find themselves to weak and transformed into mortal shapes. Through the darkness, however, the Lucavi scheme again; attempting to gain influence over the hearts of the weak and meager.

A part of the Ivalice Expansion Guild, you work as a hired blade to help expand the population of Ivalice. Your guild helps populations inhabit areas near the proximity of Ivalice's one stable power source - Esperessence; crystallized power of the espers that once gave their lives to save Ivalice. But recently, things seem to be stirring...
