In Search of a certain show...

Hey everyone,

for a long time now I have been trying to find the name of this show that used to be around a long time ago. I'll admit that at the time it was on TV, I was about 9 years old (I'm 16 now) but none the less, I remember the show being really awesome.

It used to be on Toonami right after Dragon Ball Z (Yea I was a huge fan), and I remember it had to do with a guy with long white hair I believe who fought spirits by using this awesome gun that he had...I believe the gun was like the coolest thing he owned, and with it he was able to do all this crazy stuff like dark ammo, and crazy stuff like that...

Does this sound familar to anyone, or am I just completely not making sense? :)
 
It came on cartoon network? Do you remember anything else about the anime? I may be able to help you since I used to watch Toonami a lot too.
 
Not much. The show wasn't on long, but it was really cool. I remember the gun was red I believe, and the guy wore red too with white hair. Umm, he had a really cool space ship that talked I think. lol.
 
it was called star hunter i think i remember it a little but i was so yuong then
 
Outlaw Star keeps coming to mind, but I don't think that's it.
 
It's gotta be Outlaw Star. Maybe you should check it out. It's a really great anime, regardless.

Yeah, I was thinking Outlaw Star. At first I thought Gundam Wing as that was on straight after DBZ in the UK on Cartoon Network.
