I saw Gamecubes going for $30 at my local Gamestop recently. I've always wanted to play FF Crystal Chronicles, and finally get my mitts on a Super Smash Brothers game. I'm sure there are a ton of other games I'd like on that too. I'm debating with myself whether to get it or go for the Wii (does it have BC with GC titles?), or just not buy it to save time that I could otherwise spend improving my net value to society...HAHAHA, who am I kidding. It's one or the other - help? Currently, my stance on the sliding scale of Wii vs Cube...

Gamecube($30 used)<---|------------------>Wii($170 new)($130 used)

i still say get a Wii. Despite the cost you get the ability to play more games ANd Gamecube games. and IF you want a GC adapter. just plsy your GB games on you DS/Gameboy.

All in all. The Wii is a much better deal than a 30 Dollar gamecube.

Yeah the wii is backwards compatible with GC games, and you can just buy a GC controller for it. It all really depends on whether or not there are plenty of wii games you want to play. Pretty sure all the ones you mentioned have sequels on wii too

Go with the Wii; whilst there aren't that many games worth getting for it, like people have said, its backwards compatible, and if ever you see a Wii game that you want (perhaps Crystal Bearers, if you're taking an interest in the Crystal Chronicles series?) then you'll at least be able to play it. Might as well just spend the extra money for the extra games...the Wii has some great games coming up.

you can download a load of classics from other consoles on the wii as well, so i think id go for that, the reliability of the GC itself might be abit dodgy now as its so old as well. dont know how the previous owner or owners treated it!

ah, i see. i'll be going for a wii soon then. nice to know it has BC. thanks for the input.

Gamecube it up! Though it's obviously more limited than the Wii is, it has WAY more games worth playing. The Wii has a piss poor library of games considering how long the thing has been on the market. I'd buy the cube for $30, then use the extra money you would have spent for the Wii to get some good Gamecube games (of which there are dozens).

I only use my Wii for its backward capability. I might as well not have gotten one.
