Did anybody else keep their characters at really low levels?

theres this trick that if you keep your characters at very low levels, (around 10-20), and junction, they can still be extremely powerful but the enemies extremely weak, since the system is based off of how powerful your characters levels are. Anyway it helps loads to beat Ultima and Omega. The key is to card every battle by learning card at the VERY beginning when you're supposed to go fight Ifrit. You card every single battle, (it does take a while), and bosses dont bother you because you dont get any EXP from bosses just AP. Anyways its a cool trick thought I'd share to those who might not've known.

The enemy bosses keep themselfes at the average party members level meaning that if you keep everyone at their base levels then the enemies will also have a pretty low level...except for Omega Weapon i believe.

It´s no secret that the characters can be at a base level and still have high stats that´s the good part about magic junctioning:rolleyes:

That is a good trick, but i prefer beating the bosses with skill and strategy, and not tricks. But thats just me

I'm in agreement with Matt2001, it really didn't matter what the levels were, as long as you had a good strategy and the right equipment and preparation.
Good stocks of magic really help a lot there.

Plus, I didn't even figure out that the monsters' levels were the average of my own until it was too late! Oh well..

That's no trick, that's just a lame flop if you ask me. =\
It ruins the effort required to beat most of the FFs...normally you have to spend hours leveling and gaining abilities, but...this just ruined it. =\

yeah i only played this game one time through cause i lost my first disc but i remember on the way to the tomb of the unknown king or whatever i found a spot where guys gave me like 900 exp. so i leveled up almost every battle. naturally, i went to like level 60 and thought i was a complete hard-ass until i got owned by bosses. ;)

Well, it may be just a lame flop, but it surely wasnt effortless. I did it because my cousin told me just keep your levels low and you wont have a hard time. Its still not effortless to keep your levels low. There is a point of challenge. You cant kill any enemies you have to card everything, I know it doesnt sound that challenging, but it is very time consuming. Much more than just leveling up. On top of that, if you keep your levels low you have to keep your junction magic up, I used to spend hours getting 99 of each magic in that area so my characters would be on top. It takes much more time to do that than to just level up, so it kinda evens out. You could either, go for a quicker game and a more "original" feel to the FF games, by leveling up, or, you could take the time consuming, "new" way to be powerful, and not level up at all. It might sound stupid but I liked it, and Im sure you guys have raised levels of other FF game characters just for the hell of having them better than everyone elses right? I remember getting the entire sphere grids filled for my favorite characters in FFX, it was the same for X, I just wanted a more powerful character, it might take the challenge away, but it was fun and I had a good time whipping ultima and omega weapons asses.

No, I agree it's not easy to keep your levels low, I mean...it only takes 1000 exp to level up, no matter what level you're currently at...
BOGUS.
