I propose!

50% of me agrees and my other halves disagrees.

*50% that agrees says:
-Good Idea
-Might be useful
-Besides why not?

*My 50% that disagrees says"
-Can cause spam
-Most newbies will ignore it anyway....they even forget to read the rules -_-
-There's the Search Feature for that, and you can search in your Thread Subscriptions as well ;)
-Updating the thread and constantly placing links here would be effective yes, but it would also be a pain...again we can use the Search Feature that has been proven to be quite useful, for me at least :P

Final Verdict?
-I say we try it and give it a week of probation, if it doesn't works then we just can close it and move on to the next suggestion.

Well what people fail to see, even though I said it like 5 times...
Is that it's not entirely for n00bs. It's for members like me and you who are looking for a pre-existing thread of a specific topic.
I said it could help n00bs, but it's not highly likely.

I'm not sure where to sticky a thread like that. Maybe the help and feedback section. (?)

=x

In essence a good idea but it'll greatly depend on having another member knowing where the thread is beforehand and it could be a pain to go through.

Isn't it possible to have a 'Subscribe to Thread' button which instead of sending email confirmations of new posts will just keep a list of your chosen threads in your User CP or something? It'll be harder to implement than a thread of course but something like that will be better to work with.

Alternatively, if you're looking for your own thread and you can't remember where you posted it, you can check your profile and go to "view all threads/posts by MEMBER" and then have a wee scroll through the lists.

All in all, it's not a bad idea, it's just not wholly necessary.
