Yeah, so I'm still kind of in a Persona 3 state of mind and I've done the typical fan thing and taken to listening to the game soundtrack every day
So right now I'm hung up on the intro of the special edition version of Persona 3 (P3:FES).
I know the intro of the song contains the same lyrics as the ENDING credits song in the original P3 game, which is in Japanese.
But that isn't what's bothering me; it's the rest of the song that's in English.
The guy rapping is singing so fast I can only manage to understand a few words, and the parts sung by the female singer are hard to understand, but it might be because English isn't their first language >__<
Here's the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-wpVlPxr74
And even though I found the lyrics (although I don't believe they're 100% accurate so I changed a few words to what I thought made more sense), I have a hard time matching up the words to the singing after the Japanese part:
(Yeah, I split apart the syllables of words 'cause I didn't just want to copy and paste the lyrics; have to put my own effort in it too
)
Ki-mi wa ne
Ta-shi-ka ni
A-no to-ki
Wa-ta-shi no
So-ba ni it-a
It-su-dat-te
It-su-dat-te
It-su-dat-te
Su-go yo-ko de
War-at-teit-a
Na-ku-shi-te-mo
To-ri-mo-do-su
Ki-mi wo I will never leave you...
(And this is where I get totally confused without reading lyrics >___<)
If you wanna battle
Then take it to the street
Where there's no rules
Take off the gloves
Ref, please step down
Gotta prove my skills
So get down
My lyrical depths roll about
Smack down now
Gotta shoot to kill,
Shoot to skill
Don't you be afraid
Mans gotta do how it feels
Six to seven to eight to nine, ten
I flip the script to make it to the top ten, go
Dreamless dorm
Ticking clock
I walk away
From the soundless room
Windless nights
Moonlight melts
My ghostly shadow
To the lukewarm gloom(1)
Nightly dance
Of bleeding swords
Reminds me that
I still live
Every man's gotta fight the fear
I'm the first to admit it
Shear thoughts provoke the new era
Become a big terror but my only rival is my shadow
Rewind, and playback and(2) to my own error
Get low to the ground
It's getting better
Like I told you before
Double up I did
More cheddar(3)
L to the J say stay laced
Here's my card B
Royal Flush
And I'm the Ace
(1) I think it might be "room", but I honestly can't tell, and "gloom" made sense with the dark lines
(2) Grammar, damn it >__<
(3) "More Cheddar"; that's what I hear (and was also in the original lyrics I found), but I don't get what cheese has to do with the song. Unless it's a slang I don't know about >__<
So, try to listen to the song without looking at the lyrics and then hear it again after, while looking at the lyrics.
