canceled. On a recent interview with Enix they said they lost a million dollars on a mobile game (something like that cant remember) and they said they might have to cancel Agito because of it.Do you think they will?I think they might have no choice and have to cancel it.

Oh thank goodness Agito wont be canceled.I thought I was about to have a heart attack. But the Kh mobile game I dont really care about so thats fine with me.Im just happy Agito wont be canceled. :)

Aren't thse mobile games only released in Japan anyway? If it was cancelled then it wouldn't affect us one bit. Even if it was released over our parts theres no way I'd get a mobile game, I don't see why they can't just stick to handhelds if they are gunna do that >_<

Exactly. Even if the game was cancelled, it wouldn't effect us, as they don't release their mobile games in Europe anyway. If they cancelled Agito, they might have more people to work on the main game :monster:

Nope some mobile games are released in the US but it depends on what kind of phone you have.Since you mentioned that I'm alittle curious if Agito will make it in the U.S.But you are right that would be nice if they made mobile games on handheld games.Actually Bjork you are right if they did really cancel Agito we would have more ppl for 13. Which means it would come out earlier:D

Yeah, I agree about the mobile games. Quite pointless, really. Why does it have to be on a mobile, not handheld? Since when did people play FF on their mobiles? Yet again, it is just a minor card game, can't see people spending more than £5 to add it to their phone. Still, it diverts resources that could be used for remakes and stuff.

Where did you hear this? I mean, if you can provide a source.

Well, in Japan mobile games are very popular at the moment. Japan is obsessed with cellphones. To them, mobile games = sell. Plus, I'm sure they're cheap to make considering that a phone's graphics aren't very advance. Then again, Japanese cellphones are much more high-tech than American or European cellphones. I doubt they really care about what the American and European audience think.

I heard it on a article from a union Im in.I cant post it on here though they delete their articles every two weeks. But if I come across the interview I'll post it on here. Ya Japan has some cool high tech stuff.
But to be on topic here if Enix would have really canceled it Im sure in Japan there would be sad disapointed Agito fans out there. So it would be smart if they just keep working on Agito and dont even think about canceling it.

That's what screencaps are for. Or saving the web page.

1. It's a mobile phone game, not a full console game. They won't care much.

2. There's not alot of info on it. They won't care much.

3. Americans and Europeans tend to care more about Final Fantasy than Japanese.

4. It's not coming to America or Europe anyway, their cell phones are superior. What do you care?

I did some research on it just now and most sources lead to Kotaku;

Also, due to internal loses on development, the company went back and reconsidered in development titles. A mobile game has been canned, apparently. "Concerning the title that connects to the home console," Wada said, "development has been ceased as it is unsuitable at the current time." Wada's remark has lead to some to wonder whether that cancelled mobile game is Final Fantasy XIII Agito

The reliability of this source is somewhat doubtful even though Square Enix lost $29 million of their budget for 2008, mainly because, as soon as Square Enix release any news at the moment it is quickly linked to the XIII compilation even if it has nothing to do with it.
But with 4/5 mobile games apparently being made I would suspect Agito would bring in the largest amount of money so I don't think it would be Agito that was cancelled.

Other mobile games include:
- Kingdom Hearts: Coded
- The 3rd Birthday
- Ellark
- Final Fantasy IV: After--Return to the Moon
- Final Fantasy XIII Agito

My best bet would be that either FFIV:A-RttM (that's a mouthful >.<), would be cancelled due to the remake for the DS being released soon...or maybe 'The 3rd Birthday' because...has anyone ever heard of it?
