I'm not sure where this thread belongs. But I guess if it doesn't belong here, it'll be moved anyway.

Does anyone know what type (not brand, type) of camera these are?:
Camera 1
Camera 2

..Something along those lines.

I need one that'll allow me to take excellent quality pictures, and I need one with a timer as well.

I need to know the prices, where to get it, etc.
Tell me anything and everything you know about these so-called professional cameras.
Yes, I did use the word need several times. I know it sounds silly, but it's very personal.

Help?

EDIT
I have this camera (in blue): Front | Back
It is awful. It doesn't work let alone turn on.

Thems are SLRs (single lens reflex) ie when you look through the viewfinder you see exactly what the lens "sees", you also have the convenience of being able to change lenses. You certainly will get good photos from an SLR/dSLR, but it might set you back a bit. I have a canon 400D (which is the Rebel XTi to you USians) and it takes mighty fine photos.

A quick search on that Olympus one tells me it'll set you back about £920 (body only). If you can't justify spending that then you might want to look at something a bit cheaper such as http://www.jessops.com/online.store...s/Olympus/E-420 14-42mm Lens-74404/Show.html you get a lens with that, but it won't be any use for telephoto photography so you'd have to get (at least) one other lens.

Hope that helps.

It did help. Thank you.
I'm sure it probably says, but does the cheaper one have a timer by chance?

http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/olympus/e420-review/ Further information on the Olympus E-420.

Looks like it has a self-timer mode and there's an optional wireless remote for it too.

I'm not sure about that particular camera but my 400D's self-timer is set at 10 seconds.

It's so unlike me to be helpful.:jtc:

You were pretty helpful, thank you :)
Where can I get one like that? It can't be Wal-mart -.-

USian...American, but apparently you're not.

I still don't know any shops there so I can only suggest looking online.

Haha I've never heard of USian. And technically, I am American.
I think I'm going to go to Zellers. But there's a ton of shops I can look at, so I won't stop there. I showed my dad the picture and he said he might be able to find one.
