How do I use it and how does it work? I'm trying to figure it out in final fantasy origins.

Thanks.

Isn't it just like a quick save feature? You can just save a memo file and relaoad from there as long as you don't turn off your console. Just quicker than saving to your memory card if you're gunna carry on playing I guess >_>

It's purpose is for if you die or get lost you can press the shoulder buttons of the PS1 (or whatever) to reset the game, and then you can load the memo file.
It's quicker than saving onto a memory card, and prevents you from having to save onto your main file in case you are unsure if you should be going in that direction.
I find it particulary helpfull in dungeons. I'd usually save outside of a dungeon, and any time I come across a save point inside a dungeon I would save on memo, in case the monsters realy are too difficult for me inside, and I can't get out easily. Hence not messing up my main memory card save.

Hope this has helped.
