How will they screw up Versus?

Iv got to say that with Nomura running the show it shouldn't come out to badly, having said that it is a main series FF game and we have not had a decent one since FFX, that was 8 years ago! So unfortunatly they proberly will find a way to screw it up!
 
idc if its as linear as FFXIII. the only thing that can screw it up for me is a bad story with boring characters. As long as the story is interesting ill gladly run in a straight line.
 
By trying too hard to make everybody happy and in turn disappointing everybody. I predict the game will do well in sales but fanboys will hate anything that dares to be different like they have with the last couple of games.
