I thought that this would be an amusing subject to discuss.

I would be shocked if many of us haven't, at one time, thought of being Batman, Spider-Man, or any other crime fighting superhero at one point in our childhood. Now fast-forward to today. You know that generally this sort of thing would require a lot of money... or you could try bathing in radioactive waste or something and hope to achieve superpowers from doing so, but that's not gonna happen. So what you really need, is the means to fund your superhero lifestyle.

You would need the money for pretty much everything. Whether that's martial arts, military or whatever kind of training, not to mention the costs of acquiring and maintaining your own arsenal of gadgets, weaponry, and your own costume.

How would you go about doing this? What sort of gadgets, weapons and costume would you like to purchase/create? What sort of gadgets, weapons and costume could you get in your current circumstances? How would you go about maintaining your identity, how would you go about establishing a solid network for information and help?

Me? I would like to have pretty much everything Batman has. He has a fucking huge arsenal of gadgets that can do almost anything. One of the things I like most is his method of transportation. Whether that's driving the Batmobile, or flying the Batwing, or simply just grappling and gliding everywhere. To me, everything he has is just the coolest thing ever. Heck, as a child I even thought it was awesome that the Adam West Batman had that Shark Repellant Batspray.

Realistically, I know that this isn't even the slightest bit possible for me unless overnight I become a multi-billionaire. I've actually come across a funny article here, which relates to the Nolan-trilogy Batman, about how much it would actually cost to be Batman. It shows an Infographic created by some chaps at moneysupermarket.com.

So, keeping that in mind, I would be more like the guys over at http://www.reallifesuperheroes.com/

Everything about me would scream 'Homemade!' Even my "gadgets" would consist of homemade net launchers and whatever else I can make with every day items.

But I would suck at being a superhero. For one thing, I would love to have any excuse to test out my homemade gadgets on our neighbour only because I think he's an arse. Also, I would never be able to pull off having a secret identity. I would be recognised straight away, and if I'm caught wearing a superhero costume running around trying to tackle criminals, I would never hear the end of it. Everyone would probably start calling me 'Patman' again, and start asking me where Robin is. :mokken:

i think it would cost quite a lot of money.

i mean the gimp suits arent exactly cheap. add to that all the various gadgets and toys, the vehicles. plus the cost of living your "normal" life.

i would just stitch loads of towels together and wrap a memory foam matress around my body for protection. i'd use weapons like sharp spoons and stainless steel cocktail sticks. i'm already a master of most martial arts techniqes and i can actually breathe in space anyway so i'd have no need for expensive equipment to help me breathe under water or high up in the sky.

i think i could do it all for under a fiver.
