Me, personally...I'm a chickenpuss....With each Final Fantasy version it seems that they cater to my type...Any time I accomplish anything I have the fear of losing the game or progress...

Just took the ship from rabanastre to bhujerba and accomplished meeting one of ann's sisters? Must find save crystal.

Beat a boss? Dare not trudge forward for fear of esper jumping out of the shadows and annihilating my progess, that which I will never be able to accomplish again in my own little mind...not even moments later would I believe I was able to match the just accomplished feat-should the power go out.

Final fantasy has helped me with these issues a lot. They seem to throw me a save crystal bone before big bosses....and, of course, I run immediately back to them like the chickenpuss that I am once I am victorious...not tempting the fates that something evil lurks just steps beyond...

How do you play?

Are you a chickenpuss too?

Are you a "I sit for 3 hours and I save when I get up and no sooner" guy?

Do you save at certain points and never save over them again just in case you get that itch to play it again? Personally, I used up all the savegames on my card and had to start over at 1 at the stilshrine....thus destroying my chance of killing a rat in the garamsythe again....Damn game.

So, after all that rambling, how about it?

I understood perfectly. Hmm, well...I suppose I am a chickenpuss too. Actually, I'm thinking even more so than you. I'm so paranoid about the game that even after saving, and I manage to change one tiny bit of thing on my menu (like gambits, licenses, or equipments) I run back to the save point like...well, like a chickenpuss. ^_^

This is in case if something happens, like a sudden death or someone trips over the cord and accidentally unplugs it...there's endless possibilities. =/

But well, my excuse is...better safe than sorry, right?

i know what you mean

Sometimes i will play careful, or as you say a chickenpuss??? But i sometimes know that i am such a pimp and my guys are strong enough to defeat anything that stands in there way so i press forward. I think a save crystal should only be used after or before a boss, or after completeing an area or hunt.

I always keeps going forwards after a I beat a boss or anything there is bound to be a save crystal around there but I always pray that the next save crystal isnt a crystalbug ><;; I hate those bastards, last time he almost killed my entire party ><;; but nah I trust myself too keep going forwards until I find a save crystal ^_^
I used to get e=nervous in a boss fight and yes I used to be scared of going forwards because of failure fear but not anymore, even tho I still get headaches from boss fights, I think too much during those ><;; But I always win nontheless >_>;; Heh heh...anyways next post plz

i didnt save my game again and again i only saved it after a boss battle i found it quite strange that all of you save your game after a single change
i never do that its such a waste of time that you keep saving the game again and again

Better to be safe tho ;)

For you never know what crap may hit the fan XD

I just keep moving forward ... any point there is a chance to save ide recommend saving tho, because acts of nature do happen .. that power goes out you dont want to find yourself re-doing hunts, bosses, etc. The only other time i actually use those crystals is if im running low on mp .. other than that, its forward march ....

same here i have purchased ff12 today and ive been saving alot darntgo past a crystal without saving, you never know what could happen.

what do you think can happen
if i had kept saving the game again and again then it would have taken me 2 more hours to finish the main storyline

I usually save as often as I can, just so I wont die.
Sometimes I feel lucky, like that time when I went through all of Henne mines just to get that gun... Fomalhaut. But I didn't get it, just got some mega-elixirs. So I ran to Zodiark and tried him, without any black masks. So I lost all of my exp in there. :P

Presuming you havent already, youre gonna love fighting Zodiark ;)

I was always told "Better to be safe than sorry". I think that basically clears up what I am. If I was to beat a kickass boss then walk right into a death trap then I would probably be kicking my own head in (If I could manage it). In earlier titles, I would probably just continue because there wasn't a save point everywhere. Also, in FFXII (Aswell as FFX) the save points heal you. Although I think it does take the challenge a bit out of the game, I still use it.

I save when necessary...IE after a boss battle or before I do something really stupid like attempt the next stage before I have lvl'd up.

I go on little ventures into the first area of a new place just to see if the monsters pwn me. If they pwn me I reload and go back and do some training. If they don't I continue on the the next boss.
I usually save before and after a boss. Come on it's common sense really....do you really want to have to go back through 3-4 hours of training after being used as a kitchen mop during a boss battle? No, I didn't think so. Save when you can before a boss battle and after.

I used to be gunho about it, but then I was playing FFVII and had just defeated the Ruby Weapon and was heading off to my next 'optional' boss battle, totally ignoring the save point nearest to me when disaster struck.....the power blacked out. I could have cried.
