How do you level up?

I need some help. I'm trying to level up my character's stats. Do any of you have any quick way to level up the stats (primarily firion's and maria's). I would also like to know how to raise their HP without actually having the enemies having to almost kill me all the time.

You level up by beating monsters and receiving experience points.

Yeah, but isn't FFII different in terms of leveling up? I always thought it was by using magic...

For HP just go up against weak enemies that you know won't wipe you out, then just reduce your HP to a low level by attacking yourself then win the battle. Same with MP aswell.

To level up Magic, just constently use it and it will level up.

If your playing the GBA version I wouldnt worry so much for the rest. As you fight through battles you'll notice your stats increase adequatly anyways without much dillibrate effort.

wow, that's some good advice there everyone. do you think it's also a good idea to let your characters to hit one another just to raise HP. I tried that before and i had some problems.

that's a maybe, if you feel like killing you're own people for the sake of raising stats

it's a different method to customize characters, if you use magic a lot, then they'd become better mages, if you fight a lot, then they become better fighters...

i know about that, Ramza, it's just that i'm trying to raise their HP at the moment because the boss i currently fighting is killing me easily since i always worked on raising magic and physical stats all the time.
