Help How do you get running shoes from Quan's dwelling?

I'll start with I looked on Gamefaqs and ign and the answer is not in there guides. I know there are running shoes that will appear in quans grandfather clock if you do things just right. I did it about 10 years ago but can remember just how to. When you go to treno to compete in the card games you have to watch certain things in the ate's something about watching the right ones in the right order. But to get to the point if you are able to take quina to the cave where you sent vivi you'll get a short scene where quan talks to quina and then you'll hear a sound from the clock and you can get the shoes and I know the other pair you get by beating the boss in the library but it would be nice for at least one of my charachters to have auto-haste before I face the book boss. I know the correct sequence was posted in the north american playonline guide but its not in the pal version that you posted a link to here. If anyone knows how to do this or if they know where I can find the na version of the playonline guide please help I've been replaying the treno sequence for about 6 hours trying different things and no luck I'm getting a headache trying to remember.
 
If I remember rightly, you have to wait until Alexandria has been destroyed before you can get the shoes. Then you go into Quan's Dwelling with Quina and Vivi, listen to the conversation on the patio and then search the clock. I'm sure it can only be done after the destruction of Alexandria though :hmmm:
 
I definitely got it after the card tournament. As I said, I'm sure it can only be done after Alexandria has been destroyed. Are you thinking of something else? Because I know that there is something that can only be done during the card tournament, and that's the getting the Mayor's Key in Dali :hmmm:
