How do you get Fomalhauts?

I know the location of the fomalhaut, but it wont show up whenever i get there.. is it because I have to kill the antlion first? and if so, can anybody gime ideas as to how to beat this antlion?
I can get rid of the monsters around him, but I still can't beat him.
 
Nah you don't have to kill the Anti-lion first. I have no idea why you would think that unless you are thinking of a different location for this item that I am. There is one in the Cerobi Steppe in treasure chest 49. It shows up 50% of the time, and then 50% of the time it will be an item as opposed to gil. Then...50% of it being an item, it will be either a Knot of Rust or the Fomalhaut. I gave it a try last night but I kept dicking up and forgetting that zoning to make treasures appear needs to be 3 screens away instead of 2.
 
Hmm.. this is weird.. can anyone please help me? I see in youtube videos and explanations to guides that when you're there, the treasure is right there, but I don't see anything when i get there. I even walked around in a circle and no exclamation marks
 
yeah as bustamo said theres one in cerobi steppe
but there is a small chance of the chests actually appearing
There is a almost 100% chance of one in the henne mines (but it is hard since the enemies are super strong)
If you go there and theres no chest go back 3 zones and go back and check again
 
I'm doing the low level challenge, so I'm not at the cerobi steppe yet. So i "need" to get the fomalhauts in the Lhusu Mines
 
well keep zoning in and out of the area then :)
it is 25% chance of being there i think
 
i know what you guys mean here, but everytime i go into the room with the antlion and try to get the fomalhaut, the treasure isnt even there... and ive tried 4 times and the treasure didnt even show up..
 
yes i know but you gonna have to do more than 4 times then
also i had to go 25 times just to get the excalibur
