Yep...I tried calling direct tv and they're closed at the moment and if I don't figure this out, I'm not going to hear the end of it tomorrow.
How do I connect my DVD player to my Direct TV box?

I want to avoid dangling the red/white/yellow output wire thingies in front of the tv, hence why I need to know this.

Not sure entirely, I don't have DirectTV even though I'm considering it soon enough. But it will largely depend on if your box has both input and output plugs, because if it just has the output plugs to your TV you're kinda screwed. But usually on the back of all these electronics it'll be labeled in and out so you'd want the DVD player plugged into the "in" since you're routing it through the DirectTV, and the DirectTV's wires ought to be already routed from the "out" plugs and into your TV if that's already hooked up.
