i never said it happened to me. it should probably be rephrased. I meant compared to the two, which is closer.
it's actually from scrubs:
"how depressing would you say it is to be you? would you compare it to being born without lips or having your house burn down?"
"born without lips?"
"I know a guy. His house burned down. but, y'know, shouldn't smoke in bed. 'I have a snake face.'"*pulls fake ciggarette to his mouth with lips hidden*
definitely being born without lips has to be more depressing. sure, if your house gets burnt down you lose everything, but it can be regained over time. you can't just go out and buy a new pair of lips though.
Having a house burnt down seems like it would be really depressing. But you would/could get over it. Born without lips you would never forget and doubtful you would ever get over it.
I voted House burnt down. Because whatever the reason you made this thread I think you will eventually get over it. You have been happy before and I hope you will be happy again.
Both really, I guess having your house burn down would be depressing - short term though, as it and mostly everything in it can be replaced. However, being born without lips! That would be pretty long-term depressing, I guess.
I would say house burned down. Not being born with lips, you have you're whole life to adapt and get used to it. Plus there is surgery that can help fix that. House burning down, you lose everything you worked so hard for, and some things are just irreplaceable.
