How many of you went to every single floor by using the stairs in this area? I found a couple of useful items though it took a long time to climb every floor instead of using the elevator then having to climb back down again to the floor where you have to fight that stupid creature in the elevator? Then you had to remember some number to get a certain materia or get some key for it ( I dont remember what it was) but man that took me a good 2 hours to clear it all to get what i wanted....but was there a way to get all the items on that one floor? I only could get one key to get one of the items and there were 2 or more on 1 floor. Anyone get every item in this building b4 it blew up?
 
i went all the way up the stairs the first time i played - took me at least an hour :dry: i wasnt amused
 
I remember that . the floor with all the doors and the coupons u need for them prizes. I managed to get all the prizes but it isnt worth it. By the way does anyone remember the mayors password there was a way to work it out but i never got it like that, i just saved first and went to the mayor and found out which password it was and reset to get the keycard and extra gift.
 
No you cant get cait siths weapon at the start, you need to wait to the second time you go to midgar. It on the same floor as the rest area and gym.
 
Okay, it seems some of you are talking about the begining when you take the stairs instead of busting in the front. And others are talking about taking the stairs instead of the elevator after your already in the building.

Which are you people talking about?
 
I remember always taking the stairs, just for the sake of seeing some meaningless extra dialouge. lol.
 
No you can only get Caith Sith final weapon when you re-visit Midgar to take down Hojo like Johnny Mo said.

At the begining of the game Cloud says something like "A megaphone..." and that´s Caith Sith ultimate weapon but you can´t get it right away!

As for the question of this thread i always took the stairs...but i don´t think i ever got all the items in the 64th floor
 
It took me a while to work out how to get all the items in that floor, but there not really worth it in the end. I think you get a four slot, a antipoision amulet and a all or elemental materia.

The 4 slot sucks in my opinion, but the Star Pendant, and the All materia are invaluble I think. Especially that early in the game.

You get Caits megaphone weapon, but is that really his ultimate weapon? I also like the part of this where you have to fight those shinra guards and if you didnt do it properly you had to continue to fight them i t hink 3 times and barrett says "I should have known it would be this way" This is the part of the game where you have to pass the guards without them noticing you and cloud always went first to bring the other 2 along....i would purposely get Barett caught when the guards were looking directly at him.....he must have thought i was an idiot.......took me at least 10 tries to get this part of the game right though
 
Yeah the megaphone you find in the shinra building is caitsiths ultimate weapon. The bit that i hated in the shinra building is the "complete the model of midgar" floor, thats just pointless. Going round all them rooms and having pointless random encounters with weak monsters, and you cant just go ill do it later cos there aint a save point near it.
 
Yeah that part was pretty sucky...those serpent like things aren´t really worth the trouble they get dumped with a single atack!

Still i think it´s one of the coolest parts in the game the Shinra building assault in general!
