Dirge of Cerberus Help please

I bought this game brand new and sealed off Ebay So i popped it in my PS3 (haha i had to throw that in)..

And i dont think it's bad, but i don't think it's good either. They should never really have had Vincent as a main character and they should stick to RPG's rather than these shooters.

I'm up to the bit where i've just seen Azul and Cait Sith and i've gotta meet him at the church but how the hell do i get there? I've tried and cant find the route...

There are two gates which need a card to open but i cant open either
