Whenever i cast anything like haste + all, or barrier/mbarrier + all monsters are gaining it aswell. i thought it was just in gelnika, but even outside when i used it against diamond weapon, as that's where i am now, he gained the status effects, this is pretty annoying as now all my spells dont effect him as much, AND he got hastened so speeding myself up speeds the fight up..
HELP please :D
 
Well granted, i haven't played VII in quite a while.... But when you cast magic, is there not an option that you can cast it on all the enemies/all party members/everyone?
 
that is true, but i have experimented a little, and the arrows are definately pointing at my party, and i THINK that i just found something out, i just used regen all on party and Cloud did NOT recieve it, but diamond weapon did, is this an error with my game or what? :/
 
Well if Cloud has a reflect ring on and you're casting stuff on all your party, Cloud is receiving those as well, but the reflect ring is most likely causing the monsters to get the same statuses as well because of Cloud's reflect ring affect. I'd un-equip that if I were you.
 
Well if he has a reflect ring on, every spell cast on him will go to everything on the opposing side, including damaging spells, etc.

luckily i beat diamond weapon even with him having mbarrier, barrier, haste and regen lol

I was having trouble with this as well, but this was at the time I forgot to equip my party with accessories. Isn't there an enemy skill that causes them to absorb cure, barrier, mbarrier, etc? That was getting on my nerves for awhile because I couldn't heal my party without using items. I have the habit of turning to magic first because of my huge item list and the fact that I'm too lazy to arrange my items.
 
i had a similar problem before, definitely get rid of reflect rings
