*headdesk* Need help in Wutai, might have started this sidequest at wrong time

Yeah, I left the forum for a while, but that's besides the point. Here is the problem:

In VII, my party is in their twenties (level wise). After picking up Cid and trying to figure out where to go with the plane, I went to Wutai. So of course Yuffie stole my materia, yada yada yada. But from the way I hear it, if you're going to do this sidequest, you should do it later in the game, because the boss is apparently really difficult, especially since the bitch stole all my materia.

So I guess the question is, does anyone think the boss here can be done with Cloud level 29, Barret 27, and Aeris 25? Do you think this is a good group?

Unfortunately, I think it may be too late, as I saved my game right after she stole everything. Also note that I made a wrong turn here, and if I knew this was what was coming, I would not have even went on that little island in the first place.

It's ok, I did this myself the other day and we are similar levels, Rapps IS pretty tough, so I'd save befor you head up the mountain, and also try to have everyones limits ready to use and keep the hp as close to maximum as possible, he has a rather ghastly attack Aero 3 I think....wjhatever it is you will know it because it has pretty colours and takes a HUGE chunk of Hp off

I also find it helps to use Aeriths level one seal evil limit on him and just hope her limit bar fills up quick and often inbetween just use her to cure people, she is pretty shit as a fighter anyway so you won't miss much

Also stock up on some hi potions and phoenix downs ^^

Yeah, I'm going to try to rise up everyone's limits, and since a boss guide I'm using says that Aero3 is pretty damaging, I'll probably use Barret's mindblow to take away his MP. Hopefully he doesn't use Aero3 too often. >_<

Depending on how you play you could beat it at level 19 which is what I did. build up your limits for all of your party members and just unleash a fury of limit breaks on him.
 
Well, I finally beat him. All I really needed to do was switch out Aeris with Cid, as she's pretty much useless without her materia.

To make the fight with Rapps slightly more manageable it’s also a good idea to stock up on X-potions, which you can get by defeating the flying insects on the mountains.
