This is just a general question, because like we saw in FF12 the game play dramatically changed. I mean I have seen some screenshots of post-production but that didn't give the game justice enough in my opinion to actually give us a clue as of what they are doing. Since I don't have time to really research this game like I would like too, maybe some of you know the questions I can not answer.

So I guess the questions would be are they doing any of the following

1) Are they doing away with AI? or are they keeping the ole gambit system?

2) Are they keeping the 3d Action oriented combat, rather than sticking it out there and using the turn based atmosphere?

3) Magic/summons- any word if they are making it more usable than XII? I mean the last one you could bypass espers and magic (besides the restorative side) and use straight up weapons to take down about anything.

4) Limitbreakers/Overdrives - Are they going to bring anything along these lines back? These of course were overpowered, but who doesn't miss them.. you know?

All I've been bothered to look at so far is some trailer I downloaded from PSN. It looked similar to FFX-2 to me. Characters in the battle screen running about at the same time, all attacking and being attacked at the same time and stuff. But that was just a trailer and I didn't pay too much attention. I just hope it's not too fast and hectic. I enjoyed turn based combat because it offered a greater chance to think tactically. Active time stuff is often too quick for planned strategies unless you have to wait until attacks are carried out. But however it turns out, it's going to be awesome.

I don't like the way the combat-style looks like, I'm a fan of the turnbased style, and it looks like a FFXII type of thing, but i dunno.
Maybe more like FFX-2 (which is the most overrated game ever, and if you guys say that it was rated bad, that's what i mean.)
Well, will have to try it at least i guess, hope they bring back some elements from the good ol' FF.
As a side-note, the graphics look amazing.

Yea, they sure do. But I'm pretty sure that the trailer I have showed a transition into a battle screen, which is pretty funky. I love that RPGs have seperate interfaces for battle. Sure, it was nice when FFXII took a step in the opposite direction, but it looks as if XIII will return to the battle screen system, which is absolutely fantastic. But the battle system just looks like ATB with little or no waiting times between different characters' / enemies' actions. But like I said, that's just how it looked to me from a trailer on the PSN. Probably totally different to everything I just said knowing me XD

Even if it spoils the game a little I wish they would just throw us a gameplay trailer just to keep us from not bugging out. I mean come on, I already know the story seems quite interesting, but to be honest I think they need to throw us more of a bone here than keep us waiting.

I would hope the gameplay goes back to turn based, but I doubt that it will happen. I believe it will be action oriented, so if you select something it will be in real time sequence. It will be fast paced, and of course there will be the same option as in XII to turn on/off the "real time" rather than letting the monster wait on you to attack.

The second interview merc c/p'd actually gave some fairly nice info. It sounds more and more like Last Remnant was a test game for FFXIII's game play system. I really like the concept, where each character basically squares off into his own battle or tag-teams an enemy.

It's not I stand on the right, baddies, if you'd kindly stand on the left. And it's not all over the place either. It actually unfolds like an actual battlefield. And from what I can tell about combos, is that from the time you press to attack, you can actually follow up with that character to unleash some powerful suceeding blows. I'm really happy ATB is back. The wait system was nice in FFX but some more action is always appreciated.

Just read a CVG article about it all. They highlight the similarities between this system and that of X-2, but go into all the details about combos, party positioning, etc. However, they do say that there's no transition INTO a battle screen and that there's no fanfare. I really hope they're wrong, because a Final Fantasy game without the fanfare is like.....it's like.....a shaven wookiee. It's just wrong. Plus I love the idea of an RPG changing to a battle screen instead of having the entire game played from one view.

But nonetheless, it seems like it's going to be a fun and exciting installment. And SE haven't let us down yet to be fair. I can't wait.

i prefer an active battle style bt lets hope it will come out with both options.
