guide

Sort of. You need to set the gambits up yourself for each individual battle or each area. What is it that you find hard about it?

i dont find it hard as such. i just feel that i could have them to work to more of an advantage! i cant think off the top of my head, but i think they are something like ths:

Ally < 30% HP ----- Cure
Ally poison ----- poisona
{ more of the above! }
Foe 100% HP ----- blind
Foe nearest visible --attack
Foe flying ---- (black magic)

argh i really cant remeber , i havent played it in a while, been too busy!
i did have a gambit set up for beserk, but it annoyed me. so i took it out!

Take off everything on your players and give your party leader no gambits (You control him/her yourself)
Give the other 2 Party leaders target:attack Foe flying:black magic
Ally<30% hp (any cure spell) Ally<10% mp charge

If you go into an area that has monsters that deal status effects then set up gambits that counteract that status.

ok yeah i am kinda doing that i think!

i did try and have my party leader with gambits, but HELL it was annoying! cos there are things you miss and stuff. so i just have either vaan or fran as my leader. (i switch over everytime one goes up a level)!

i should play on it again soon, but at the moment i am having a tomb raider obsession :D

I have the hard back edition but don't really use it for the game....I just like to read it for the info in general. Only if I'm REALLY stuck will I use it for help. Bought the Vagrant Story guide and it's the same with that. Nice to look through but don't use them for help unless I need it.....and as has beenstated, lovely pictures. :D

I say get a guide. I have one for all the Final Fantasys, cept 3 still need to get that one. I believe the gudies explain everything alot better and also you may not be able to always access a PC to use an online guide.

I always buy the Official Strategy Guide with the game, mainly because I collect them. However, with FFXII it’s almost a must if you wanna complete nearly everything there is to do in this massive game.

Either way, you made good decision by purchasing one. There’s so much to do in this game and it really easy to make a mistake screwing yourself out of something important later on.

Like getting the Zodiac Spear, that was just bull. Chests are there to be OPENED, not left alone! And at least dont make it 4 random ones you cant open and put one of them in a group of 16! Ugh >_<

Yeah, you would never know about crap like that if you weren't following some sort of guide. Thats one problem with this game, you will NEVER ever know or be able to figure out certain stuff unless you have a guide. In other games it was possible (though sometimes hard) to figure out the sidequests and things on your own because the worlds were relatively small. XII's world is so huge and there's so many people to talk to you'll have no bloody idea of what to do.
