Gamespot (GameSpot:Video Games PC PlayStation 2 Xbox 360 Wii PS3 GameCube PSP DS GBA PS2 PlayStation 3) has just, well not just, but a while ago added FF7 to a list of The Greatest Games of All Time, along with the original Doom and some other titles. Also, on Gamespot Final Fantasy VII is rated the #1 game on the PS1, and I think is some where within the #300-400 in all games ever (and thats alot of games).

Do you think this game is really that good?

I do, Final Fantasy VII is one of the greatest if not THE greatest. It was the turning point for future Final Fantasys and one of the greatest games I've ever played, and in fact, I just started a new save I think last mouth. I agree with Gamespot on this being one of the greatest games. What do you think?
 
I cant say it was the BEST but it was certainly the most influencial final fantasy, it was still an awesome near perfect game, like how SquareSoft makes them
 
Final Fantasy VII is a good game, but i'm still waiting for Final Fantasy XII to come out i can tell that game is gonna be wicked.
But my favourite is Final Fantasy IX.
 
I really didn't have a taste for any of the newer Final Fantasy's. I'm still playing all the classics (FFI, FFV, FFVII, FFVIII, and I'm gonna get 9 soon!)
 
FFVII is over played and far, far overated. It was a good game, but its given too much respect than it deserves. If only FFVI got this kind of rating, it deserves it a lot more than VII.

Although saying that, I cannot deny that FFVII is a great piece of gaming experiance. Just overated.
 
I doubt it's overrated, really it deserves this sort of publicity, as I can ask over 100 people on the streets that have never even heard of this game.

But you are entitled to your opinion.

RPG's arent for everyone you know, if you ask ppl in a mall probably a third of them like RPG. If you ask around in a poor village probably nobody knows, ask a middle-class families probably half of them play RPG. it's diffrent everywhere.
 
its really nice that FF7 was conisdered as one of the greatest games:) i wont be surprise if FF7 influence surpasses ps3 or possible ps4 generation of games. peace!:)
