Its happening. And according to the experts its gonna get worse, unless WE do something. But we all know that won't happen. We don't care enough. Thats just how us humans are... so what are we gonna do. There is so many things we can do. Why aren't we DOING THEM!!!

If this keeps happening, then... the big ice cubes will melt D:, is true, they're melting, right?? But I think, we care, then we don't, we keep doing it.

Well its all political. The major countries don't want to shut down there factories and stuff that produce the pollutants. Its gonna be so bad if we keep this up. As the earth gets hotter most of the animals may not be able to adapt. Like polar bears. They can't take heat.

*chuckles* Yes the 'big ice cubes' are melting. Then we'll be flooded, therefore letting us think "Gee, you think we should've done something sooner?" I personally hate the way the world has become - so centered around money that nature and other things count for less and less. It's going to hit us hard in the end; but to those that own the industries - 'die rich'? I agree Larxene, the majority of us just don't care; which will hide all attempts from those who do. I'm glad I won't live long enough to see the effects of human ignorance. I just fear for the future generations.

An important note on this issue is that infact the polar ice caps are not what will melt. They are too large and too dense to be effected to such an extent.

What will melt is the large amount of floating ice in the oceans such as icebergs. Aswell as countries such as Greenland and Northan Russia. These are not so dense and will easily melt in the tempratures belived to be what the Earth is approaching.

Another point is that we do not know for sure if it is even our doing. Many scientists belive that this is just the natural stage of the world heating up as it approaches the next ice age.

So if you do not like the heat do not worry. As the next ice age will be coming soon after the big heat wave.

It is the natural cycle of the Earth and we can not truly alter it. Only effect the timing a little.

You can tell it's happening and we are powerless to stop it. Like others, I believe that humans are a cause, although we can't take 100% blame. It's basically because of the earth's atmosphere contains a lot of trapped gas; trapped gas that comes from many things that we humans use, cars, powerplants...etc. Everyone who has said so, is right, we just don't care, and this is natures last cry to the beings that are destroying their planet, us.

Humans are the leading cause of greenhouse emissions in the world. Gee, I wonder why?

Global warming will not slow down unless there is a serious, for a lack of a better word, convention about it. Plus, the United States needs to get off it's high horse and stop denying there's global warming. If we don't do anything about it now, then we'll be suffering for generations to come. The polar ice caps melted to new records in the past five years.

The Kyoto Accord also needs serious reworkings, and I think the United Nations needs to play a more active role in these sorts of things. Perhaps something along the lines of a stricter global emissions standard..

Dont forget the Nuclear waste, Were running out of places to dump them. Now Tony blair has been planning on making another nuclear power plant. I worry about nuclear plants, not only do the increase the chances of polution and Global warming but they give out radiation. This causes cancer. If you ask me, its pretty much stupid to builda power plant when all it does is destroy or childrens life. The way this world is going it wont survive 60 years.

You know eventually theres going to be another Cheynobl, but our wise leaders like president Bush or Prime minister tony blair think differently.

When will they learn.

for all of you who have not learned it yet,
1) "Global Warming" is a natural phenomina which occurs every few mellenia.
2) if the polar ice caps melt, only small portions of the continents would be covered in water. only as far as California on the west coast. The math has been done.
3) and the global warming that you all know it is just a fabrication of the media to scare you all.

I know the green house gasses are affecting the atmosphere, but they are not the cause of global warming at all. if anything the world is preparing itself for the next Ice Age.
Earth just keeps rolling through the same cycle over and over again, until our solar system no longer exists.

I agree with all of this. I also believe strongly that the events of "The Day After Tomorrow", I think that could happen. Not the precise events, but I believe it will happen within my lifetime.
