hey guys just a quickie i wanna buy a gaming laptop. i'm wondering which of these -link removed- laptops would be able to play for example world of warcraft with no problems and also a good range of FPS, which one would play left 4 dead with no problems? i wanna go cheap as possible but also be able to do these things thanks

Gaming and laptops don't usually go well together. Usually, anything modern can handle things like WoW, TF2, and those kind of games no problem. However, in x years, when the newest games come out with high system requirements, you'll be up a creek without a paddle because of the impracticality of manually upgrading most components of the laptop.

If you have to get a laptop, then by all means. I use a Ienovo R61 Thinkpad (business laptop), and most of my games work fine. However, after including WoW, I found that I had to move everything to external memory because space were dangerously cramped.

But to fully answer your question: yeah, any laptop new on the market should do it. However, beware of the limitations of the laptop, as a "gaming laptop" is comparable to a "mediocre desktop" minus the insane amount of heat and energy used. Yeah, let me know if this has helped in anyway.
 
I've heard alot of good things about those ones called alienware. I think thats the term they go by. I don't personally know much about them, but google them and have a look

Well, playing on the laptop isn't much fun. I prefer using the normal PC, but if you have to then at least buy a USB mouse and keyboard.
 
yeah if you want a gaming laptop then by all means DONT waste money on a cheap one. Save you money until you can afford an alienware laptop, they range from £600-£1200 roughly.. mabie they start a little bit higher tho. Also check out google as i found a page for a laptop range the other day, that was boasting about how its laptops are better for gaming.. but there are probally more out there
 
I would love an alienware but like you say its about a grand. Well for a decent one anyway. Our current laptop is amazing on nearly all specs except graphics card.
 
Yeah, they are expensive but defo the way to go, its really not worth it toherwise. might aswell get a tower and upgrade my friend
 
If i had the spare cash at the moment i would go for a desktop, can't afford a thousand on a laptop at the mo, im only a student haha. I know some pretty sweet desktops for half the price of alienware, but i would rather just go all out and wait till i could get an alienware laptop. Im one of those people who doesn't like to tune down the graphics when i play.
 
I'm using my gaming laptop at the moment. It's a Dell XPS 19'' Screen. It can play high end games like Crysis on High Detail (Not Very High since it doesn't have Direct X 10...) so it will definitely play World Of Warcraft on any setting. It cost me over £1000...but that's because I bought it when it first came out...like two years ago. (well ok..I didn't buy it, my father did).

Here are the statistics of it:
Intel Core Dual Processor 2.4 GHZ.
2 GB RAM.
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT Graphics Card.
100 GB Harddrive.

No upgrades, I don't bother with bigger hardrives - I only use roughly 60 MB for games and only for the newer high performance games. I use my other computer for the majority of my old games, and emulators.
