Okay, I'm having trouble understanding certain gameplay mechanics. I'm on the third extra "storyline", the one unlocked after beating the Shantotto and Gabranth parts. If you're not familiar with it, basically they throw to you up against foes that are at least lvl 96+ (including many that break the lvl 100 cap).

I'm playing a level 100 Terra with the following stats:
HP: 9020
CP: 415
BRV: 860
ATK: 142
DEF: 157
LUK: 60

And I'm going up against a lvl 102 Shantotto with the following stats:
HP: 9428
CP: 451
BRV: 1692
ATK: 176
DEF: 183
LUK: 61

Now, every time I hit her with a brv attack I do about 15 damage to her brv. Every time she hits me I take about 1500 brv damage.
Is it just me or is this just a tad absurd?
She's only two levels above me but she's treated like she is twenty levels above me!

I've managed to play keep-away and whittle her HP down to 1 a few times, but then she goes berserk and kills me one hit (regardless of how much HP I have at the time).

Can someone either explain what the heck is going on here? Or better yet, give me advice that could help me drastically boost my stats?

In battles, you should firstly consider these things: BRV, HP, ATK, DEF. Those are the most basic things to consider. You might also want to consider LUK, and the other things on the list. Why you'd want to consider those four basic things is because they determine the character.

What you also much consider is the other player/opponent's Lvl. With each Lvl that they have higher than you, their BRV is boosted but some multiplied amount. The smaller the Lvl gap, the smaller the multipied amount.

The second thing you must consider is your opponent's equipment and accessories. If you fail to understand that your opponent highly outmatches you in every aspect, then you are a fool to step into that battle. At Lvl 100+ enemies tend to really screw you over because of the fact that they have better equipment than you, higher statistics than you, and generally a faster thinking process than you. Imagine you enter a battle. You would think about their stats, their equipment, and how you will execute your moveset. This is how an AI opponent will think: l;kajshdkgujweklajhfovpijahewsklfhgsaeioiuwqajhdsvkluhuwqioeauhfkgsljbdh

What I mean to say is that they will process the information they've got on your character, and try to beat you in any way they can. They will wait for you to attack them, if you constantly attack your opponent because you're a melee character, and that's all you can really do. They will get in your face if you are a magic user, and beat you with everything they have in their arsenal. They won't show mercy. Luckily, though =) You are always able to beat them.

Anyway, going back on topic. The reason why your enemy is attacking you for so much is either:
They broke your BRV (made you reach 0 BRV by BRV attacking you) and therefore took all of your BRV as well as the Stage BRV
or
They have a high ATK stat due to Accessories/Equipment but have lowered stats on other parts.

I wish you luck! Don't fail me =)

PS: I just looked at the stats you gave me again. It's no wonder you do nothing to them... Their DEF is higher than YOUR ATK. 183-142 that's a huge 41 Point difference.. <.< Not only that, but their ATK is higher than your DEF xD Also, it's sad to see that Terra only achieves 415 Max CP at Lvl 100 without CP gear =| That sucks... If only there was a way to boost stats a little xD

there isnt really much to add to the post above, but make sure that you have the highest available equipment attatched, and also, accessories make all the difference so make sure you attatch ones that are relevant to your character and your strategy

How do you have a CP of 415? you are lv 100! Can you add a equipment and accesories list for me to help? Firstly, your stats suck. You really need 66atk+ weapon, 290+BRV, 72+DEF and 2500+ armour as you can't win with these stats.

It basically means that you need way better equipment first of all, to even out the stats

Second, the right abilities for crits and such

Third, learn how to make a good accessory build for your character and how you play

And lastly, learn how your character plays, Terra is supposed to be playing a keep-away style
