So I'm replaying Final Fantasy VI in Snes9x, and I got tired of leveling up and stuff. So, I went over to GameGenie.com and used two of their cheats; the one for loads of XP and the one for loads of money. After the one for money seemed to have work, I applied the one for XP as well.
Right now, I'm right in the middle of the Cave to the Sealed Gate in the World of Balance, at the point where that ninja jumps you (right after the save point in the cave). When I fight the ninja (or anyone else), after the battle the line reads "4543598 XP gained" or something like that, and then it just starts repeating end-of-battle messages like "1 magic point" and stuff, as if it was stuck in an infinite loop.
Has anyone had the same problem? Is there an end to this loop or is my progress hopelessly lost?

I'l move this over to the help booth I think ^^;

There's also a moral to this story xD

Never had the same problem. That stuff happens when you use game mod devices like Game Genie though. They even warn you of that on the product itself. If you check online, I'm sure they'll be a couple websites that will tell you of common choke points and places where the game commonly fucks up due to modding. I know I've replayed several games with cheats and they will screw up on occassion. Nothing much you can do but load an old save.

Easy to fix. Turn the cheat off!!

You're using a PSP to be using Snes9x. (That DRAINS your PSP battery by the way, why don't you use a GBA Emu + ROM??? Providing you have a genuine copy of the game of course...)

I'm using Snes9x on a 1st gen MacBook. And the problem seems to be fixed after I turned cheating on and off again countless times.
And yeah, there definitely is a moral to this story :/ But hey, thanks for helping, everyone!
